Excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic theatre complex at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center. The City is currently accepting applications for several part-time, hourly Staff Ambassador (Usher) positions in the Cultural and Community Services Department.
Primary responsibilities:
- Assist with locating seats, ticket-taking and patron relations
- Provide clear, pleasant, and courteous communication to patrons, promoters, and co-workers
- Resolve patron complaints
- Assist school children in loading/unloading in/out of buses and theatre complex
- May assist in the training of volunteer usher staff
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Two years experience working as an Usher in a performing arts center
- The ability to communicate effectively with patrons and coworkers
- The ability to remain calm in pressure-filled situations
- The ability to be a team player who works well with others, is motivated, and provides excellent customer service
- Basic first aid skills
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
The successful candidate will report to the House Supervisor and work approximately 15 to 20 hours per week, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Special Requirements: Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods. Will work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and go up/down stairways under various lighting conditions.
