THE POSITION

Tri-City is recruiting to fill the position of Quality Assurance Specialist II within our Best Practices Department. The Quality Assurance Specialist II is responsible for facilitating the Agency's Electronic Health Record (EHR) training and carry out duties to maintain Tri-City's Quality Assurance Program in accordance with specified county, state, and federal laws and regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).  This position will report to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.

This position will perform the following essential duties, including, but not limited to:

  • Assists with maintaining the Authority’s quality assurance program in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, Authority rules, guidelines and values; develops systems and standards for compliance evaluation; implements training, monitoring, and processes to ensure that Authority activities are in compliance with specified laws; recommends ways to integrate the quality assurance message into all aspects of the Authority’s business and human relations.

 

  • Assists in determining the type and frequency of training needs; collaborates with the Quality Assurance Supervisor in the design and delivery of training; develops job specific training manuals to be used during staff training for each health center implementation and ongoing support.

 

  • Coordinates with the Quality Assurance Supervisor in the implementation of policies and procedures concerning best practices and compliance issues.

 

  • Reviews charts in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system to monitor clinical staff records and to ensure compliance; trains staff and interns on documentation standards, new processes and on the chart review process.

 

  • Assists with the facilitation of all internal and external quality assurance audits; assists program staff in preparing for audits; assists with collaborating on the implementation of any corrective action as a result of the audit.

 

  • Participates in any needed training, meeting, committee, and compliance groups on monthly or quarterly basis; facilitates quality assurance meetings, workshops, and committees in order to enhance documentation quality.

 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate

Education and Experience:

Education:

  • Quality Assurance Specialist II: Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with major coursework in behavioral health, social work or a related field.

Experience:

  • Quality Assurance Specialist II: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience working in quality assurance in a behavioral health or social services setting.

FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE BENEFITS:

NEW!  Sign-on Bonuses:  $2500 for eligible positions.

Merit Salary Increases: Annually based on performance, budget availability and supervisor approval.

CalPERS Pension: 2% @ 55 for Classic Members and 2% @ 62 for PEPRA Members; employee contributes 7% for Classic and 7.75% for PEPRA. No Social Security. 

Vacation:  80 hours per year, increasing with years of service with a maximum of 240 hours; cash out option available.

Sick Leave: Full-Time employees = 88 hours per year with no cap.

Holidays: 11 paid holidays per calendar year plus an additional 16 hours of Floating Holidays.

NEW!  Longevity Pay: $2500 at 5 years of service; $5000 at 10-35 milestone years of service.

REVISED!  Flexible Work Schedule: 9/80, 4/10 and/or intermittent teleworking, where applicable and approved by supervisor. **

Health Insurance:  Medical (Kaiser HMO), dental (MetLife PPO) and vision coverage (EyeMed) of which 80% is paid by Tri-City Mental Health Authority (TCMHA).

Life Insurance: Paid at one times annual salary, paid by Tri-City MHA with additional optional coverage available.

Deferred Compensation (457b): Available to interested employees; no employer match.

    • Receipt of an annual influenza vaccine.
    • Submission of proof of both the updated COVID-19 2023-2024 vaccine formula and the annual influenza vaccine to Human Resources.
