San Mateo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Surgery Scheduling Specialist for a Full-Time, Extra-help position for the Surgery Department. The Surgery Scheduling Specialist provides technical, complex and specialized administrative support to surgeons and patients scheduled for surgery, which includes interaction with operating room staff and patients; handles multiple competing priorities; interacts with diverse customer groups; handles multiple patient-related tasks such as tracking patient financials to ensure information is correctly entered; and moves patients from the clinic to the operating room, including all pre-operative processes necessary for the patients prior to surgery, pre-op process sheets and clinic schedules, data entry of items into the operative database, financial reconciliation, and post-op order sets, and may have some responsibilities for ordering supplies or equipment.
 
The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communications skills, including the ability to communicate complex medical terminology to a variety of people with varying levels of medical knowledge. In addition, they would possess skills in conflict resolution, and problem solving. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work with challenging patients, and patients who may have a language or communication barrier. This position will require attention to detail, and therefore the ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
 
NOTE: The ability to speak, read and write in fluent English and Spanish is preferred for this position.
 
 Duties for this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Tracking patient financials to be sure they are correctly entered.
• Scheduling patients in the procedure clinic.  
• Updating the pre-op process sheet and clinic schedule in the computer.
• Entering data into the operative database.
• Interfacing between the Operating Room and Surgeon.
• Ability to schedule patients using the OR manager program.

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

Working as part of the Benefits team, the new HR Tech will provide daily customer service support to County employees and retirees by answering questions about the generous benefits that are offered and conducting trainings and presentations to educate employees and retirees about their benefit packages.  Call center experience is extremely helpful, though not required. Examples Of Duties

The HR Tech will be responsible for reconciling benefits reports and assisting in the development of dashboards. We are seeking an individual who can gather, organize, analyze, and explain benefit plan data effectively through concise reports. The ideal candidate will possess intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency, allowing them to create pivot tables, formulate equations, conduct calculations, generate visual data representations, and design forms/audit reports.

Benefits Division

THE POSITION

The City Attorney's Office seeks a well-qualified, motivated attorney for the position of Assistant City Attorney. This is an at-will position that serves as part of the City's executive management team. 

The Assistant City Attorney will provide legal advice, counsel, and representation to the City in areas including, but not limited to, land use, real estate, housing, and environmental law. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

THE DEPARTMENT

The City of Berkeley invites applications for the position of Community Health Worker Specialist! These positions would provide outpatient and/or inpatient services physical therapy evaluations and treatments for a variety of orthopedic and neurologic conditions.

Physical Therapists manage patients with a wide range of diagnoses, chronic and acute, and are part of a dynamic treatment team. In addition, Physical Therapists identify patient challenges and develop goals and a care plan with reasonable outcomes for the individual's life/work settings. Daily opportunities are created in this assignment through the variety of illnesses/injuries seen in our patient population.

Physical Therapists work at SMMC as part of a County rehabilitation program, which provides evaluation, education and treatment. The therapeutic program at SMMC is oriented toward inpatients and outpatients with acute and chronic problems while providing therapy to inpatients with a need for long or short-term rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of work experience providing care in an outpatient setting with an interest in covering inpatient when the census justifies. San Mateo County Health is seeking a qualified Therapy Aide - Extra-Help for the Rehabilitation Services Department in the San Mateo Medical Center.

Rehabilitation Services provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to patients in the acute, long-term care, outpatient and acute psychiatric units of San Mateo Medical Center. Under supervision, the Therapy Aide assists Physical and Occupational Therapists with mobilizing patients and assisting physical and occupational therapists in carrying out treatments primarily on the acute medical/surgical and long-term care units of San Mateo Medical Center.

The Ideal Candidate will possess the following:

- Ability to work well with patients and colleagues.

- Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.

- Ability to lift moderate loads (~50 lbs) and/or assist with lifting and transferring patients of varying ages and conditions.

- Be self-motivated and independent.

- Has working knowledge of basic computer programs.

- Ability to read, write, and speak in Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Transport patients to and from therapy unit.
• Ambulate with patients who require supervision or minimum level of assistance to walk.
• Assist therapists in carrying out treatment programs for patients.
• Observe patients while undergoing treatment and report changes in the status of patients to the supervising therapist.
• Assist in lifting of patients.
• Clean and maintain therapy equipment and perform light general housekeeping duties.
• Assist patients to and from restrooms.

Salary:  Management Analyst I - $8,022.41 - $10,238.87 per month

              Management Analyst II - $8,737.78 - $11,151.85 per month

The Human Resources Management Analyst will serve as a business partner to departments for a variety of Human Resources programs and projects including recruitment, job analysis, training and development and benefit administration.

This position researches and analyzes human resources practices and procedures and makes recommendations for organizational, operational, policy, and procedural improvements; conducts needs analyses, feasibility studies, and evaluations for assigned projects and programs; provides consulting services to City management and staff regarding all aspects of human resources programs and activities; fosters cooperative working relationships among City departments; and performs related duties as assigned.

Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible human resources experience, preferably in local government or comparable agency

Education

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with course work in public administration, human resources and or closely related field.
