Under general direction of the Ferry Maintenance Manager, this position will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance job plans for our fleet of passenger ferries and facilities. The Ferry Maintenance Planner is responsible for all aspects of the planning process with the goal of improving workforce productivity and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles. This position is also responsible for analyzing and interpreting data and preparing correspondence and reports with recommendations to management.

Essential Responsibilities

 

• Develops and maintains a comprehensive job plan library to support maintenance activities for the ferry division assets, including routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs, at the direction of the Ferry Maintenance Manager.
• Performs fact finding job walks and inspections against maintenance service requests to create effective maintenance job plans.
• Collaborates with Ferry Maintenance Manager and Shop Foreman to coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to ferry operations.
• Works with store room and procurement personnel to ensure parts availability in line with maintenance work plans and schedules.
• Uses work order data and job plans to optimize on-hand inventory, identify and maintain sufficient critical spares inventory
• Coordinates with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
• Ensures contractors are notified of any safety requirements prior to arrival on site.
• Reviews work order actuals (parts, labor, requisitions) data prior to records being closed.
• Identifies trends, optimize maintenance work plans, and improve overall maintenance efficiency by finding and eliminating defects in process and design.
• Prepares reports and documentation related to maintenance activities including work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment records. 
• Ensures compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards and Ferry Division Safety Management System.
• Assists in the development and implementation of training programs for maintenance staff.
• Stays updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in Reliability Centered Maintenance.
• Undertakes improvement initiatives to support maintenance performance.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors and all others contacted during the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education and/or Experience: 

• Associate degree in a related technical field. Qualifying Experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of education
• Four (4) years of experience in industrial or transportation maintenance, preferably in the maritime industry.  
• Experience in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System, CMMS (IBM Maximo Preferred)
• Experience at an advanced level preforming maintenance-based planning (Labor, materials, tools, impact to operations) and technical administrative responsibilities is desirable. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency using advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database software; prepare analysis, presentations, and spreadsheets using Excel.

 

Required License: 

Must possess and maintain a current, valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record.  

 

Physical Requirement: 

Working inside and outside in all weather conditions. Work around fumes, odors and dust in an occasionally high noise level environment. Ability to access and inspect all above and below deck spaces and voids. Ability to travel to District facilities. Routine use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.

Position Summary

 

The first 6-months will be at a Dispatcher Trainee status. Every two months during training, there will be a step increase as follows: 

 

Dispatcher II Trainee: 

Step 1 : $29.85

Step 2 : $33.83

Step 3 : $37.81

Once you successfully complete the trainee status, the starting salary step is $39.80 with the highest step being $47.95 

This position reports directly to the Operations Control Manager, who provides general supervision, guidance, and assistance.  A substantial portion of the dispatcher’s work is assessment of unscheduled events and corrective action follow through.   Dispatcher’s work is evaluated by performance in maintaining scheduled and unscheduled service, dealing with emergency situations, supervision of bus operators, and interaction with bus transportation supervisors.
 
The primary responsibility of the Dispatcher is to make work assignments to bus operators in accordance with the labor agreement; within a geographic service area, to safely maintain scheduled and unscheduled service. An additional responsibility is to act as a Radio Dispatcher as required.   The position may require working on extended shifts.

Essential Responsibilities

 

• Develops a daily dispatch plan, based on the availability of equipment and operators, and modify the plan as conditions or events change during the day.
• Responsible for maintaining scheduled and unscheduled service at a rate greater than 99% of all schedules while minimizing additional costs of overtime.  
• Possesses the knowledge and interpretation of the labor agreement in scheduling the extra board, making work assignments, and handling a wide variety of operational situations.
• Assists, coordinates, and provides radio contact for bus transportation supervisors in the field, and dispatches them as needed to respond to situations requiring supervisor’s presence.
• Verifies accuracy and functioning of time clocks, checks vehicle/operator supplies, reviews daily schedules, and verifies bus operator’s medical card and driver's license.
• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to his or her job.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with District employees, customers, vendors, and all others contacted during working hours using principles of excellent customer service.

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education and/or Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment or experience in dispatching vehicles. Transit experience is preferred. Must pass the Dispatcher Training Program and Probationary Period. (This will include classroom instruction. The classroom instruction will consist of tests that must be passed. There will be modules on District fares, routes, knowledge of bid cycles, run books, policies, procedures, and MOU procedures, along with other paperwork associated with the duties of this position.)
 
Required License: Must possess and maintain a current, valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record. No more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years. No DUIs or reckless driving infractions within the last 7 years. May operate District vehicles. 
 
Physical Requirement: Lift up to 50-pound boxes and supplies. May require long periods of standing. Frequent bending and reaching. Long periods of working at a computer workstation. Constant use of sight abilities including hand/eye coordination, near range vision for sorting, and accessing written material.  Constant use of hearing and speech abilities to communicate with operators; give/receive instructions via the telephone, and radio.

General

The Procurement Administrator II reports to a Procurement Administrator III in Contracts and Procurement and is responsible for preparing and processing Invitations for Bids (IFBs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs), and Purchase Orders (PO’s) for the procurement of goods, materials, equipment, professional services, and public works.

Essential Functions & Duties

 

• Manage all phases of the procurement process in compliance with applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and policies governing public agency purchasing (e.g. California Labor Code, Prevailing Wage, and California Contract Code).
• Review solicitation requirements for reasonableness, recommend contract type, determine appropriate procurement strategy, and method of compensation.
• Develop terms and conditions and solicitation provisions.
• Lead contract negotiations to achieve best overall value for the agency. 
• Perform contract administration (e.g., administer contract amendments, prepare in-house memoranda, and correspond with vendors and legal staff).  

 
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: 

• Authorize award of contracts and approve purchases, contract amendments, and work directives consistent with District policy and procedures.
• Prepare and issue professional service agreement work directives. Negotiate and maintain rate agreements and any adjustments in mark-ups or indirect rates with consultants in coordination with project managers. 
• Maintain contract records that includes print and website advertising, leading pre-bid/proposal meetings, lead site walk-throughs, respond to requests for approved equals, address questions and requests for clarification, conduct public bid openings, analyze bids received, determine responsiveness and responsibility of apparent low bidders, check references and perform cost/price analyses. 
• Manage and perform contract activities using PeopleSoft. 
• Develop contract language by collaborating with subject matter experts from such areas as Risk Management, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Labor Compliance, Project Management, Finance, Capital Grants, and Legal Counsel.
• Research and evaluate sole source procurement requests.
• Provide guidance to Project Managers on all aspects of the procurement solicitation and contracting process. This includes evaluating scope of work, identifying evaluation criteria, and developing timelines.
• Prepare written reports and contract award recommendations. 
• Provide guidance and administration on a wide variety of contracts. 
• Interface with government, and transit agencies.
• Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect one’s self, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Three (3) years relevant full-time professional-level experience with procurement and administration of equipment, material, maintenance, public works, and professional or other services-type contracts. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in public agency purchasing is highly desired. 
• One or more of the following Professional procurement certifications is desired: 
• Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), 
• Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO), 
• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), or 
• Certified Professional Supply Management (CPSM).
• Construction Experience preferred
• Working knowledge of an Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) such as PeopleSoft, SAP, JD Edwards, and Oracle.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Position Overview

Under the direction of a Supervising Stationary Engineer, Stationary Engineers are responsible for a wide variety of repair and maintenance work in the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, emergency power systems, water treatment systems, boiler equipment, and piping repair, building automation systems, and miscellaneous equipment repair. Stationary Engineer II is a journey-level classification, and incumbents are expected to have proficiency, perform independently, and solve complex problems in all of the areas listed above.

The ideal candidates for these positions will have:

• At least three years of journey-level experience as a Stationary Engineer.
• A minimum of three years of journey-level experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Extensive knowledge and experience working with boiler and HVAC systems.
• Proficiency in a wide variety of installations and repairs on plumbing, gas system piping, chiller/boiler piping, and wastewater systems, including the ability to operate a large sewer snake.
• Certification as a Backflow Prevention Tester.
• Experience in energy management and computer-controlled systems.
• The ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of equipment, including air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, light commercial furnaces, burners, fresh air and exhaust fans, economizers, and humidifiers.
• Experience with Fire Alarm testing, troubleshooting, and NFPA codes.
• Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II,  in an effort to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list. These positions are located on the Tri-County Youth Rehabilitation Campus which falls under the Juvenile Institutions Division of the Yuba County Probation Department. The primary responsibilities of this flexibly staffed position are to: provide care, custody, supervision, and control of youth housed in the secured detention facilities while they are pending legal action or serving a post adjudication commitment; ensure and sustain a safe and secure environment for youth; and coordinate counseling and behavior modification activities associated with the operation of the facilities.

 

About Detention Services & Yuba County:

Our Department believes people can change and we can be instrumental in supporting that change.  We are  a small workplace family that supports one another to accomplish our mission and allow our team members to live full lives outside the workplace. Our Campus provides youth detention services to the communities of Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties as well as several contract counties through our Camp Singer program.  We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and includes the Tri-County Juvenile Hall, Secure Housing Unit, and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center (Camp Singer), under a Joint Powers Agreement between the three counties. Our Department is the administrative agency responsible for the management and daily operation of the facility. Experience: One year of general clerical experience related to assigned area and at a level comparable to an Office Assistant I with the City.

Salary range: $59,536.52 - $94,334.10

As an Airport Maintenance Worker II, you will perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to the repair of electrical and plumbing systems, framing, finish woodwork and carpeting, asphalt and concrete repair, painting, and landscape maintenance. This role demands a versatile skill set ranging from mechanical repairs to groundskeeping, all aimed at keeping our airports operating safely and efficiently.

 

About The County Of San Mateo Airports Division

Located in the scenic settings of Northern California, the Half Moon Bay and San Carlos Airports are integral parts of the County of San Mateo’s aviation landscape. Both airports serve as vital assets to the community, not only in terms of transportation but also as crucial hubs for emergency services, disaster relief, and community safety. The airports provide a variety of emergency services and response functions including Air-Ambulance and Medivac flights, law enforcement and homeland security patrols, and Coast Guard sea-rescue operations.

 

Examples Of Duties

The selected candidate will perform duties, which will include but are not limited to:

• Conduct regular inspections of airport facilities to ensure safety and proper functioning.
• Maintain overall appearance of airport grounds and facilities, including controlling weeds and trash pick-up.
• Operate a variety of motor vehicles such as utility trucks, pickup trucks, sweeping machines, boom and scissor lifts, tractors, skid steers, forklifts and other related equipment.
• Maintain aircraft hangars by inspecting, cleaning and repairing of the metal siding, floors, electrical systems and door mechanisms.
• Repair and maintain various airport electrical systems.
• Perform airfield and parking lot pavement striping to ensure that markings are vivid.
• Clean and sweep pavement surfaces and mow airfield grassy areas; perform weed control activities; maintain airport grounds including landscaped areas, lawns, and irrigation systems.
• Perform general maintenance and cleaning of airport buildings, HVAC systems, and painting as needed.
• Operate and maintain equipment or hand tools used in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and facilities.
• Operate light and heavy-duty vehicle to transport materials.
• Monitor and order supplies for airport maintenance and facilities.
• Complete work orders and daily reports as directed to accurately reflect activities performed.
• May be required to be on-call and/or respond to airport maintenance emergencies after hours.
• Train other maintenance staff as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

 

The ideal candidate will be highly organized and able to work collaboratively with others, take initiative as needed to complete maintenance tasks, demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, attendance, attitude, communication skills, safety practices, and appropriate workplace behavior.
