The Yuba Water Agency is recruiting for the position of Hydro Maintenance Worker within our Maintenance division in the Power Systems Department. The position would report directly to the Maintenance Manager, with direct supervision by the Working Foreman. 
 

The County of Yuba is currently accepting Full-Time applications for the position of Office Assistant. The current vacancy exists in the Probation Department. Under close supervision, provides a limited range of administrative support for an assigned department, including tasks such as word processing, data entry, reception duties, scheduling, website updates, record maintenance, creating routine forms, memoranda, correspondence, reports, and operating office equipment as needed; and preforms related duties as assigned. Additionally, the individual in this role serves as the face of the department and must be willing to assist both the general public and County staff. 

Note: Office Assistant is a County-wide classification. The employment list established from this recruitment may be utilized to fill additional vacancies within the same classification in other departments.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to either County Jail security or Court security.

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.

Glenn County is recruiting individuals to fill three full time and multiple Part Time/ Extra Help positions in the Public Works Agency. The Public Works Maintenance Worker I/II/III position performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled labor in the construction, maintenance and repair of County roads, bridges, and other related structures, and in various traffic control maintenance and  repair activities of the Public Works Agency; operates a variety of construction, maintenance and transportation equipment as necessary to complete daily tasks at the Glenn County Public Works Agency. The Public Works Maintenance Worker III position is the journey-level class in the series, and is distinguished from the Public Works Maintenance Worker II by the primary responsibility to operate heavy diesel and gasoline-powered construction equipment in the maintenance of roadways, drainage systems. 
 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Prepares roads for patch repairs, overlays, or chip seals; prepares mix for patching roads; repairs and reconstructs roads.
• Cleans roadsides and drainage systems; inspects and clears debris from drainage systems; conducts roadside burning as needed.
• Prunes trees and other vegetation as needed.
• Directs and controls traffic around work sites.
• Operates semi-trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, boom truck, front loader, rollers, snow plow, etc.; operates a compressor, sand blasters, jack hammer, chipper machine, welding equipment, cutting torch, compaction tools, weed eater, blower, and other hand and power tools.

The City Manager is the administrative head of the government of the City. The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Health & Human Services Education Supervisor in the Health and Human Services Department. There are two vacancies that exist, one on the Communication & Engagement Team and one in Employment Services.  The incumbent will plan, organize, coordinate, and supervise assigned staff; develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate programs; ensure quality client-centered services in accordance with HHS policies and procedures; and perform related work as assigned.  This is the supervisory level in the education series and reports directly to the HHS Program Manager.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Supervise, review, and evaluate the work of staff; organize and assign work, set priorities and follow up to ensure timely completion; evaluate staff job performance and provide direction and coaching through regular feedback sessions; create individual development plans with employees, discuss job performance problems to identify causes and issues, and work on resolving problems; recommend discipline and implement discipline procedures as needed/directed; provide or coordinate staff training; offer advice and assistance as needed.

• Design and implement planning goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for assigned programs.

• Monitor assigned programs and ensure compliance with departmental mission, funding source regulations, and other guidance.

 • Evaluate program effectiveness and attainment of objectives, make recommendations for improvements, and implement program changes.

• Participate in program budget development, as well as cost tracking and projection.

 • Review grant proposals, participate in development of work plans, mission statements, goals, and implementation and evaluation strategies.
