Under direct supervision, the Police Academy Recruit attends a basic Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certified training academy to obtain the basic skills and fitness level necessary for performance of Police Officer duties.  This position requires a thorough background investigation, voice stress analysis examination, psychological assessment, and a medical exam prior to appointment. This is the non-sworn, entry-level classification in the Police Officer series. Incumbents in this classification receive training in a controlled classroom environment.  Advancement to the sworn Police Officer level is based on meeting minimum qualification standards, satisfactory performance in the academy and availability of police officer positions within the City.

The Department: 
The Water and Sewer Utilities Department is a utility enterprise that provides planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of the City's water distribution system, sewer collection system, and recycled water system. The Position: 
A Water Service Technician I performs routine water service duties and is responsible for the maintenance and testing of water meters, backflow prevention devices, and fire services, as well as the handling of customer complaints and service requests.

The annual salary range for this position is $87,627.84 - $111,495.84.  This position will be filled at or near the minimum of the salary range.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Requirements:
• Graduation from high school or possession of a GED; and
• One (1) year of experience in a water utility performing service work including the servicing, testing, and repairing of water meters or one (1) year of approved related technical experience with mechanical instruments

LICENSE
Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license is required.

CERTIFICATION
Possession of the following certificates is required within twelve (12) months of, and for the duration of, appointment:
• A valid Water Distribution Operator Certificate (Grade D-1 or above) issued by the California Department of Health Services; and
• A valid Backflow Prevention Tester Certificate issued by the California-Nevada Section of the American Water Works Association or the Foundation for Cross Connection Control and Hydraulic Research

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• May be required to work shifts, weekends, and odd and unusual hours in the performance of duties and emergency situations
• Must be able to perform all of the essential functions of the job assignment

This position will be a part of the on-call rotation and crisis response and be responsible for supervising, planning, organizing, and directing the work of clinical, professional, & technical staff & providing mental health services to individuals & families. This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Provide direct services to clients under appropriate scope of practice;

• Supervise, train, evaluate, and participate in the selection of student interns, subordinate clinical staff, Mental Health Specialists and Mental Health Workers; and initiate and participate in personnel actions in accordance with the Agency’s human resources practices and procedures.

• Make or review decisions on difficult client assessment and casework matters; supervise the timely and accurate submission of activity logs of assigned staff; and review caseload and task/needs reports for accuracy and timely changes & other duties as assigned.

THE POSITION

Tri-City is looking to fill one (1) vacancy for a bilingual, Psychiatric Technician I/II for the Medication Support Division. The Psychiatric Technician I/II will appeal to individuals who are inspired by challenges and opportunities presented in working with an engaged and active community by providing all manner of adjunctive medication support services. The Psychiatric Technician I/II will report to the Crisis & Medication Support Manager.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• From initial intake and otherwise, identifying patients who do not have a Primary Care Physician (PCP) and providing education and assistance to connect to a PCP;

• Identifying patients with significant medical co-morbidities through direct consultation with Tri-City doctors and tracking hospital medical admission and PCP visits;

• Attending medical visits, medically complicated or otherwise, and acting as a medical liaison between PCP/Specialist and our Psychiatrists;

• In collaboration with Tri-City Psychiatrists, ensuring that medical treatments will reach optimal results, attending & arranging medical visits, supporting patients during and in between visits, identifying barriers and communicating them with the PCP, Tri-City Psychiatrist, and family, if appropriate;

• Logging of all incoming medications, logging out discontinued medications, and logging destruction of medications;

• Responsible for completion of flex fund forms for medications paid for by the Agency (working directly outside pharmacies).

 

San Mateo Medical Center and its clinics are currently seeking well-qualified candidates for Physical Therapist II to provide outpatient and/or inpatient services at San Mateo Medical Center - Main Campus in San Mateo, CA. Currently, there is a Limited-Term, Full-Time vacancy and an Extra-Help, part-time vacancy. 

These positions would provide outpatient and/or inpatient services physical therapy evaluations and treatments for a variety of orthopedic and neurologic conditions.

Physical Therapists manage patients with a wide range of diagnoses, chronic and acute, and are part of a dynamic treatment team. In addition, Physical Therapists identify patient challenges and develop goals and a care plan with reasonable outcomes for the individual's life/work settings. Daily opportunities are created in this assignment through the variety of illnesses/injuries seen in our patient population.

Physical Therapists work at SMMC as part of a County rehabilitation program, which provides evaluation, education and treatment. The therapeutic program at SMMC is oriented toward inpatients and outpatients with acute and chronic problems while providing therapy to inpatients with a need for long or short-term rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year of work experience providing care in an outpatient setting with an interest in covering inpatient when the census justifies. Ability to work weekends and/or holiday coverage when necessary is also strongly preferred. New or recent graduates with independent outpatient physical therapy work experience or internships are encouraged to apply.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Traffic Division: Under direct supervision, the selected individual is assigned to the Traffic Division in the Seal Beach Police Department. Duties include: enforcement of parking regulations; assists with traffic control; documents front counter and over the phone crime reports; provides assistance as directed; performs other related duties as assigned.

Records Division: Under direct supervision, the selected individual is assigned to the Records Division in the Seal Beach Police Department. Duties include: receives requests for information from other City departments, outside government agencies, private organizations, news media and the general public for release of statistical information; performs computer input for nationwide automated system (CLETS) including stolen vehicles, missing persons, stored vehicles and stolen property according to established guidelines; files various documents in the manner prescribed by policy; compiles and completes fingerprint cards for a variety of individuals including all city employees, and applicants for specialized permits; processes arrestee prints for reporting purposes; screens office and telephone callers; provides front counter assistance and information to the public; responds to and resolves complaints and requests for information on regulations, procedures, systems and precedents relating to assigned responsibilities; operates a variety of office equipment including copiers, facsimile machine and computer; inputs and retrieves data and text; organizes and maintains disk storage and filing; ensures and maintains adequate supply of necessary report forms and supplies and performs related duties and responsibilities as required.

Detention Center: Under direct supervision, the selected individual is assigned to the Detention Center in the Seal Beach Police Department. Duties include: booking, housing and transportation of arrestees to Seal Beach Jail, Orange County Jail and other detention facilities; preparation of booking paperwork; Livescan fingerprinting; provides assistance as directed; performs other related duties as assigned.

IT/Crime Analyst: Under direct supervision, the selected individual is assigned to the IT/Crime Analysis Unit in the Seal Beach Police Department. Duties include: designing, maintaining and updating reports associated with crime patterning and officer productivity; Maintaining and managing information technology systems. This includes managing access control system and surveillance systems, mobile computer systems, and mobile device management systems; assisting the detective’s division with analysis of intelligence from a multitude of sources. This includes surveillance system video extraction, cell phone analysis, and cell tower analysis; Calibrating, maintaining, and operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). This includes managing UAV firmware updates, maintaining and testing UAV equipment, and piloting UAVs as needed.

Animal Control: Under direct supervision, the selected individual is assigned to the Animal Control Services Unit in the Seal Beach Police Department. Duties include: responding to calls for service; providing care or impounds healthy, injured, sick, dangerous and deceased animals; issuing citations or investigates violations pertaining to animal control codes and regulations; performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
