We are seeking an innovative and proactive Building Official with a positive, forward-thinking perspective. The Building Official will manage all building division functions (building permit issuance, plan check, and building inspections). The position reports to the Community Development Director. The Building Official will assist in integrating the City’s vision, goals, and people strategy with the business strategy of the Community Development Department; managing, planning, and organizing Community Development services, programs, and operations; developing and implementing policy; crafting and accomplishing department and City objectives, goals, and performance metrics within guidelines established by the City Council and City Manager. The City of Berkeley invites applications for the position of Housing Inspector II (Certified)! In this role, you will perform skilled inspection work with City residential housing inspection programs. You will independently perform the full scope of work in the investigation, reporting and follow-up of housing deficiencies to gain compliance with housing, building, zoning, fire, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and related codes and regulations.

Assignments are varied and generally require close interaction with the public, providing information and interpretation of applicable ordinances, codes and regulations. We'll expect you to exercise considerable independence and discretion in conducting inspections, resolving complaints and enforcing inspection results.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:

Equivalent to graduation from high school and at least two years of full-time experience equivalent to Housing Inspector or Building Inspector or Code Enforcement Inspector for a public agency. 

Must possess:

• An International Code Council (ICC) OR California (CA) certification in Residential Building or Housing Inspection or in Code Enforcement; and
• ICC or CA Residential or Commercial Electrical Inspector certification and ICC or CA Residential or Commercial Plumbing Inspector certification, or equivalent ICC or CA Legacy Certification for either Combination Inspector or Combination Dwelling Inspector.

Other requirements: Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. The Assistant Director, Financial Reporting and Operational Accounting will report directly to the Section Director, Financial Reporting and Operational Accounting, and will have management and oversight of the general ledger and financial reporting group; as well as production and publication of financial reports for the agency and its component units.  The Assistant Director will provide oversight in the development and/or review of policies and procedures for proper accounting and financial reporting of capital assets.  In coordination with internal stakeholders, this position will assist in developing and evaluating the internal controls associated with accounting and financial reporting of financial transactions.

This position will perform a variety of complex analytical, compliance, and administrative work in support of reporting functions; management of the financial reporting team and overall relationship with agency sections and program staff; coordinate with various outside agencies; analyze financial statements and communicate important financial information clearly to all entities. The Assistant Director will perform other job-related duties as needed or assigned by the section.

Experience: Five years of increasingly complex and diverse professional accounting work experience, two years of which having full supervisory responsibility for two or more major accounting functions, including the equivalent of two years as an Accounting Supervisor or Senior Financial Analyst for MTC.

Preferred Qualifications & Specialized Skills

• Public sector accounting and auditing experience, governmental accounting experience is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as a CPA, CPFO, or equivalent is desirable.
• Must have experience with Enterprise Resource Planning software and/or other financial management applications.
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license and a safe driving record, or the ability to provide alternate transportation which is approved by the appointing authority.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general direction of the Accounting Section Director, the essential duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Director include, but are not limited to, the following:
 
Examples of Essential Functions

• Manage internal accounting controls for General Ledger. 
• Oversee all month end, quarterly, and annual G/L journal entries. 
• Recommend changes in policy and procedures to ensure financial records and audit processes are compliant with local, state, and federal requirements. 
• Prepare monthly financial statements and related reports for the Agency and all its component units and Commissioners and Boards of Directors; as well as various external reports such as State Controllers and National Transit Database. 
• Plan, organize, and perform assessments to ensure administrative, accounting, and internal controls exist and are properly functioning. 
• Manage all external financial and governmental/grant audits including the preparation of Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports and Single Audit Reports.

• Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving governmental accounting standard pronouncements, provide Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner. 
• Research, interpret, implement, and enforce GASB standards and pronouncements. 
• Oversee the accounting and reporting of capital assets and projects and grant transactions. 
• Ensure compliance with federal and state grant accounting regulations and conditions. 
• Review accounting journal entries and ensure the accuracy of information. 
• Oversee the production of monthly financial statements/reports. 
• Oversee compliance with audit recommendations. Maintain records and audit reports for follow up audits and to monitor compliance with recommended changes in policy and procedures.

• Oversee the preparation of financial reports for all boards and associated committees, attend committee/board meetings, and present reports and make presentations as required and requested.

HYBRID WORK - Employees may need to be in the office for some assignments/tasks that can only be done onsite or at a designated MTC work assignment location.  This position can primarily be performed remote. On-site attendance as required based on in-person meetings or work assignments.
 

The City of Dixon is accepting applications to fill one (1) full-time position of Transit Driver/Dispatcher and to establish an eligibility list for future use.  

This position drives a Readi-Ride General Public Paratransit Vehicle (GPPV) on a demand responsive curb-to-curb transit system and assist patrons boarding and leaving the bus, especially the elderly, disabled, and school age children. EXAM PROCESS

The exam process will include, but is not limited to: 

• Application review for minimum qualifications and required documents
• Written Exam: POST PELLETB
• Performance Exam: Physical Abilities Test (PAT)

Performs a variety of unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance work, and operates a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of Town water, sewer, street and storm drainage facilities and systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The total salary range for the Senior Wastewater Facility Engineer is $144,362.40 - $182,735.28 Annually. This amount includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. While final salary will be determined based on a selected candidate's qualifications, due to the specialized nature of these positions, salary offers will likely be in the top third of the Senior Wastewater Facility Engineer salary range.

ESD is seeking to fill multiple Senior Wastewater Facility Engineer positions in support of the RWF CIP division. The Senior Wastewater Facility Engineer position is a management classification, reporting to a Principal Wastewater Facility Engineer.

This position will work closely with the Program Management Consultant (PMC) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) staff in an integrated Program Management Office (PMO) to deliver a wide variety of capital improvement projects at the RWF.

The Senior Wastewater Facility Engineer will serve as a Project Manager through all phases of capital project delivery from project initiation to feasibility development, design, bid and award, construction, testing, start-up and commissioning and post construction for his/her assigned project(s).

Responsibilities may include preparing consultant procurement documents (RFQs/RFPs); conducting contract negotiations and administration; directing the preparation and approval of project deliverables prepared by Consultants (i.e. condition assessment reports, alternative analysis reports, conceptual design reports, preliminary design reports, detail design drawings, specifications, permit documents, and construction estimates); preparing Council memos and presentations for contract award.

The Senior Wastewater Facility Engineer will also participate in resource planning, staff recruitment and development.  They will be responsible for hiring, training, developing, managing, and supervising professional engineering and technical support staff.

Works within a framework of established procedures and interprets policies, procedures and guidelines. This level may formulate recommendations consistent with directives, policies, standards and regulations. Incumbents require only occasional instruction or assistance. Work is reviewed upon completion and for overall results. Serves as a technical architect and systems integrator for large complex systems or networks, with a focus on securing vulnerabilities and reducing risk of system and/or asset compromises.

Essential Duties:
 

1. Determine requirements for the development environment and / or enhancement for large complex systems that serve HSA’s programs. May research and conduct feasibility studies on new technologies.
2. Design, plan, integrate, test, implement, document and enhance large complex systems. This may involve the analysis, coding (.NET C#, Cold Fusion), web application design, database design, and evaluation of systems software, hardware and communications strategies.
3. Perform systems integration for interoperability over dissimilar platforms and technologies. This may involve the integration of various protocols and systems software.
4. Determine the proper installation parameters for software for smooth integration and efficiency in relation to the enterprise system and network.
5. Write code to customize large systems software which may involve specialized programming languages.
6. Read and understand requirements documentation and other documentation in order to write code to implement the required features for application systems.
7. Analyze, detect, identify and correct complex systems software or hardware deficiencies. Analyze, research and debug program logic and systems; modify program logic; analyze service requests for system changes or new requirements to determine the most effective approach and the appropriate staff time required to achieve the needed modification.
8. Provide emergency technical support for application issues to ensure system availability and data integrity. May provide on-call support to ensure rapid recovery from software or hardware problems for mission-critical systems and networks.
9. Act as the liaison between vendors, technical support hot-lines and departments to resolve complex systems. Coordinate and implement corrective measures; this may involve site visits, telephone assistance, remote systems and participation in technical committees.
10. Facilitate the demonstration and training of staff in the use of new hardware or software products.
11. Document procedures and troubleshooting techniques related to systems software and hardware; develop technical documentation and review documentation prior to general distribution.
12. Plan, develop and implement backup and recovery procedures for large systems.
13. Communicate with managers regarding system performance and operational issues. Suggest improvements to management.
14. Research and test new software technologies; report results; recommend software purchases. Learn and implement the new technologies that are brought in. Coordinate and work with vendors when needed. 
15. Attend meetings, workshops, and demonstrations; perform duties and responsibilities as assigned.
