About The Position:

The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list for the position of Deputy Sheriff. Deputy Sheriff’s perform a wide variety of patrol officer and related duties required to effectively respond to and resolve the normal scope of peace situations, including the protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, criminal investigation, report writing, crime prevention and suppression, case preparation and testimony, and providing information and assistance to the public and perform related duties as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to a specific geographic area for patrol, investigations, crime prevention or other peace officer-related functions. 

The County of Yuba is recruiting for both Extra-Help and Full-Time Juvenile Corrections Officers I/II,  in an effort to fill current vacancies and establish an eligibility list. These positions are located on the Tri-County Youth Rehabilitation Campus which falls under the Juvenile Institutions Division of the Yuba County Probation Department. The primary responsibilities of this flexibly staffed position are to: provide care, custody, supervision, and control of youth housed in the secured detention facilities while they are pending legal action or serving a post adjudication commitment; ensure and sustain a safe and secure environment for youth; and coordinate counseling and behavior modification activities associated with the operation of the facilities.

About Detention Services & Yuba County:

Our Department believes people can change and we can be instrumental in supporting that change.  We are  a small workplace family that supports one another to accomplish our mission and allow our team members to live full lives outside the workplace. Our Campus provides youth detention services to the communities of Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties as well as several contract counties through our Camp Singer program.  We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, and includes the Tri-County Juvenile Hall, Secure Housing Unit, and Maxine Singer Youth Guidance Center (Camp Singer), under a Joint Powers Agreement between the three counties. Our Department is the administrative agency responsible for the management and daily operation of the facility. The shared goal of facility staff is to provide youth with support and tools that will assist them with successfully reintegrating back into the community.  Staff are provided with state mandated relevant training, which includes youth trauma; crisis management; cultural competence; mental health awareness; sexual abuse and harassment; and proper use of force.

The County of Yuba is actively recruiting to fill current vacancies and establish an employment list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher within the Sheriff’s Department.  The incumbent receives 9-1-1 system sheriff, fire, medical emergency and rescue calls; dispatches sheriff, fire and medical personnel following established procedures; maintains communication with officers in the field to ensure safety and provide back-up and information; provides relief coverage for the records unit; and performs related work as assigned. These classifications require shift work and the ability to make decisions and act appropriately in stressful situations. The work also involves interdepartmental cooperation with various public safety agencies located throughout the County to coordinate the most effective response to requests for assistance from the public.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (District) is a regional government agency, committed to achieving clean air to protect the public's health and the environment. The District accomplishes this goal through regulation of industrial facilities and various outreach and incentive programs designed to encourage clean air choices.

The District's jurisdiction encompasses all of seven counties - Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Napa, and portions of two others - southwestern Solano and southern Sonoma.

The District is conducting an open recruitment for the position of Accounting Assistant I/II.  There is one (1) vacancy.  This is a full-time, represented position in the Finance Office.  

DEFINITION

Under general supervision, provides a variety of routine to difficult financial, billing, statistical and accounting office support; may perform general office support duties, including typing, word processing and filing; performs related work as assigned.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Accounting Assistant I is the entry level class of this accounting support series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn financial office and District procedures. As experience is gained, there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. This class is alternately staffed with Accounting Assistant II and incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualifications of the higher level class.

Accounting Assistant II is the journey level class of this series, fully competent to perform a variety of responsible accounting and financial record-keeping support duties. All positions are characterized by the presence of fairly clear guidelines from which to make decisions and the availability of supervision in non-routine circumstances. This class is distinguished from Senior Accounting Assistant in that the latter assigns, directs and reviews the work of a small accounting support staff.

POSITION INFORMATION

The Finance and Administrative Services Department is responsible for supporting the City’s operations through accounting, budget management, information & technology services, revenue services, payroll, purchasing and utility billing. This position, in coordination with the Administration and Budget team, will support the entire Department with a special emphasis on Citywide budget development and financial analysis.

DEFINITION

Under general direction of the Department Head, performs a wide range of responsible, professional, administrative, staff assignments which include oversight of interdepartmental and City-wide projects and programs; and performs related work as required. As this is a management development position, the incumbent may be assigned temporarily to other departments to gain broad experience in various municipal functions.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Assist in program, policy and budget development, implementation, coordination, revision, review, evaluation and monitoring; participate in interdepartmental task forces and committees; research, compile and analyze financial and other data; prepare recommendations for budget requests, grants, new programs, modification of services and equipment; plan, organize and coordinate assigned City-wide projects and monitor departmental projects; analyze, interpret and explain City policies and procedures.

Education: Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, with major course work in Public or Business Administration or related field.

THE POSITION

The City of Daly City is seeking a highly skilled, business-oriented Senior Management Analyst with strong accounting, budgeting and financial management background to assist in budget development, projection and implementation of Citywide budgets.  This position reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and plays a critical role on the City’s budget, working in partnership with other departments.

The successful candidate will prepare budget reports, complex financial forecast and analyses, update budget forecasting model, monitor revenues and expenditures, make presentations, and provide staff assistance in support of Citywide activities.

The position requires a dedication to customer services, teamwork, excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and writing skills, ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task while delivering quality results, and a commitment to maintain high level of ethical integrity, timeliness and accuracy.

The City of San Jose's Department of Planning, Building, and Code Enforcement serves to ensure the orderly and safe development of private properties, compliance with all applicable building, zoning, and quality of life ordinances and regulations, and to promote healthy and safe community standards. This City's Building Division provides oversight and assistance towards the City's growth and development in relation to construction activity on private property within the City . The goal is to en sure the safety of buildings and to support the health and wellbeing of all persons living and working in San Jose through the implementation of the State of California's current building codes and laws .

The Division is seeking applicants for the Division Manager classification within the Building Inspection section. This is a full-time position and is responsible for the supervision and mentorship of a team of Building Inspectors performing field inspections , plan review s , and over-the-counter review s , as well as the Development Services Support Services (call center) team. Division Managers also provide valuable feedback to the development community and project construction teams by leading on-site pre-construction meetings and helping to resolve conflicts during construction.

The Building Division is divided into the following four sections:

• Permit Center: Plan intake and routing to plan review and Development Services Partners , over the counter permit processing, permit issuance, addressing, assistance desk/ public information , ADU Ally, and Small Business Ally .
• Plan Review : Review of private development project plans and calculations for compliance with the California Building Codes and state laws, coordination with Development Services partners, expedited review, and coordinated review .
• Inspection : Inspects active private construction projects for compliance with the approved plans and adopted building codes and state laws .
• Support Services : Development Services call center, document imaging, records requests, and general support for the building division .

Major Responsibilities

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. The Department of Public Works is currently seeking to fill one ( 1 ) full-time Security Officer vacanc y in the Facilities Management Division. This is a temporary (Overstrength) position that is anticipated to be funded through December 31, 202 4 , subject to further extension as appropriate . This position is responsible for performing work focused on security services at City Hall and providing a safe and orderly environment for staff and the public. Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Providing service to customers, monitoring closed circuit video and access control systems in Security Operation Center (SOC).
• Escorting contractors to perform maintenance on security equipment.
• Monitoring and/or inspecting vehicles at the garage entrance.
• Issuing access badges to employees, interns or contractors for City Hall and other off-site locations.
• Provide security coverage for various city meetings, public or private events, commissions and hearings in addition to coordinating with Police and Fire during emergency operations, medical calls or other related calls of service pertaining to the City Hall campus.
• While on duty, incumbents of this position will be required to wear the approved uniform for this classification , which includes a jacket and safety shoes, or work boots approved by the department. This classification receives an annual uniform allowance every year through the MEF bargaining unit Memorandum of Agreement.

Current shifts for this position are Monday through Friday, day and swing and shifts with added graveyard shifts on the weekends and/or holidays. This position may also at times require overtime with early-ins or hold overs to provide coverage for meetings, events or special projects during the week or on the weekend that could fall on a City of San Jos é recognized holiday.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hours: 40 hours per week

Rate: $28.15 - $37.73 , depending on experience

Under the direction of the Controller, provides accounting and fiscal support, including budget tracking, income and expenditure reports, revenue billing and collection, payroll, reviews and reconciles a variety of complex financial transactions for the Peninsula Library System and its multiple contracted agencies.

Distinguished from the Accounting Assistant I by the amount of accounting experience required. An Accounting Assistant II works under general supervision and, within a framework of established procedures, is expected to perform a variety of more complex accounting duties with only occasional assistance.
