The Department
The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position
Pre-School Aides assist Pre-School Teachers with teaching fundamental cognitive, emotional, social, and physical skills to children three to five years old. Duties may include assisting with planning and leading program activities; interacting, leading, and supervising youth in arts, crafts, games, and sports; performing participant check-in and reception duties; assisting with equipment set-up, take down and housekeeping; chaperoning participants on field trips, opening and closing facilities.

POSITION INFORMATION

The Finance and Administrative Services Department is responsible for supporting the City’s operations through accounting, budget management, information & technology services, revenue services, payroll, purchasing and utility billing. This position, in coordination with the Administration and Budget team, will support the entire Department with a special emphasis on Citywide budget development and financial analysis.

DEFINITION

Under general direction of the Department Head, performs a wide range of responsible, professional, administrative, staff assignments which include oversight of interdepartmental and City-wide projects and programs; and performs related work as required. As this is a management development position, the incumbent may be assigned temporarily to other departments to gain broad experience in various municipal functions.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Assist in program, policy and budget development, implementation, coordination, revision, review, evaluation and monitoring; participate in interdepartmental task forces and committees; research, compile and analyze financial and other data; prepare recommendations for budget requests, grants, new programs, modification of services and equipment; plan, organize and coordinate assigned City-wide projects and monitor departmental projects; analyze, interpret and explain City policies and procedures.

TYPICAL TASKS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of: Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of municipal budgeting, finance, public administration and organizational development; modern management of departments and organizations; pertinent legislation; interpersonal behavioral dynamics.

Ability to: Write and present reports and recommendations; speak before groups; properly interpret, explain and act in accordance with laws, regulations and policies; demonstrate competency in research and analysis, decision making, and management skills; and tactfully relate to the public, departmental managers, employees, other organizations and outside agencies. Work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Education: Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, with major course work in Public or Business Administration or related field.

Experience: Two years of full time, paid, responsible work experience in a fiscal or administrative capacity; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.

License: Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License.

THE POSITION

The City of Daly City is seeking a highly skilled, business-oriented Senior Management Analyst with strong accounting, budgeting and financial management background to assist in budget development, projection and implementation of Citywide budgets.  This position reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and plays a critical role on the City’s budget, working in partnership with other departments.

The successful candidate will prepare budget reports, complex financial forecast and analyses, update budget forecasting model, monitor revenues and expenditures, make presentations, and provide staff assistance in support of Citywide activities.

The position requires a dedication to customer services, teamwork, excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and writing skills, ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task while delivering quality results, and a commitment to maintain high level of ethical integrity, timeliness and accuracy.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong accounting and financial background, a solid knowledge of municipal finance, governmental accounting and budgeting practices and procedures.  Public Agency experience is highly desirable.

Salary Range: $17.37 to $23.15/hour, DOE

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position.
• Flexible schedule of 15-20 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends; not-to-exceed 950 hours per calendar year.
• This position is located at Village Theatre and Art Gallery.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED

General supervision is received from Program Coordinator. This position does not exercise supervision over others.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Essential duties are inclusive of, but not limited to the following:

• Assist renters and various user groups during events in Town facilities.
• Operate lighting and/or sound equipment.
• Box office management, reporting, and cash handling.
• Maintain and keep facility clean and in good working order during and after events.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have successfully completed 12th grade and be at least 18 years old with two years of experience in live performance theatre, with experience in operating theatrical lighting and sound or has taken relative coursework.  Set construction, production management and/or stage management is a plus.

Knowledge of:

• Operations, services and activities of technical operations of theatre programs.
• Theatre pre-performance, performance, and post-performance activities.
• Office procedures, methods, and equipment, including computers and applicable software applications.

Ability to:

• Work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays.
• Lift 50 pounds; carry 30 pounds.
• Perform duties with OSHA standards.

LICENSE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S)

Possession of a valid California State Driver’s License, or license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire. The City of Belmont is looking for an experienced professional for the position of Budget Manager. Under general direction of the Finance Director, the Budget Manager administers a variety of complex and professional budget and financial support functions within the Finance Department, including preparation and execution of all budgets, reports, accounting records, financial forecasts. This classification is responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of the City's Annual Budget; providing financial information and analysis to aid in executive management decision making; performs the highest level of complex budget analysis and has frequent interaction with staff and leaders of other City departments. This classification may also oversee general financial functions such as cash flow management, audit procedures, payroll processing, coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies, supervise finance professional, technical and clerical staff, and related work as assigned.  A hybrid/partially remote schedule may be approved by the department.

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

• A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in finance, budgeting, or accounting work.
• The equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, or related field.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.
