The Department
The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position
Special Events Attendants work behind the scenes making all Recreation and Community Services excel! This job entails interacting with the public and vendors participating in recreation and community activities, facilitating arts, crafts, games, and sports; performing participant check-in, reception duties and cash handling duties; assisting with large equipment (stage and booth) set-up, take down and housekeeping; opening and closing facilities. As experience is gained, may provide administrative and onsite program support; assisting with training, leading, scheduling and directing staff; organizing and directing event activities; preparing written and verbal reports and correspondence which may include drafting advertisements and social media posts. The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (District) is a regional government agency, committed to achieving clean air to protect the public's health and the environment. DEFINITION

Under general supervision, provides a variety of routine to difficult financial, billing, statistical and accounting office support; may perform general office support duties, including typing, word processing and filing; performs related work as assigned.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Accounting Assistant I is the entry level class of this accounting support series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn financial office and District procedures. As experience is gained, there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. This class is alternately staffed with Accounting Assistant II and incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining experience and demonstrating proficiency which meet the qualifications of the higher level class.

Accounting Assistant II is the journey level class of this series, fully competent to perform a variety of responsible accounting and financial record-keeping support duties. All positions are characterized by the presence of fairly clear guidelines from which to make decisions and the availability of supervision in non-routine circumstances. This class is distinguished from Senior Accounting Assistant in that the latter assigns, directs and reviews the work of a small accounting support staff.

THE POSITION

The Maintenance Worker I performs semi-skilled and skilled labor in the construction, maintenance, repair, and related service activities related to streets, sidewalk, park, grounds, irrigation, and/or turf and may be assigned to either the Streets & Fleet or Parks Maintenance Divisions. The current opening is in the Park Maintenance Division.

Typical duties in the Parks Division may include but are not limited to: Maintains turf, trees, shrubs, groundcover, top dressings, irrigation systems, playground equipment, park furnishings, restrooms, and sport field equipment; Operates and understands basic maintenance procedures for various power turf equipment, including but not limited to mowers of various sizes, edgers, blowers, chainsaws, and related equipment as required; Performs a wide variety of skilled tasks involving the use of power equipment and hand tools in the areas of park and grounds maintenance, irrigation system installation, programming, and maintenance, and tree/shrub trimming maintenance; Performs installation, maintenance and repair of various parks and grounds improvements and planting and trimming of trees/shrubs; Performs fertilizer and herbicide application related to turf and ornamental plant care; and performs other related duties as assigned.

The normal work schedule will be a 9/80 work schedule (9-hour days Monday-Thursday, 8-hour Friday with every other Friday off) from 6:00 am-3:30 pm. POSITION INFORMATION

The Finance and Administrative Services Department is responsible for supporting the City’s operations through accounting, budget management, information & technology services, revenue services, payroll, purchasing and utility billing. This position, in coordination with the Administration and Budget team, will support the entire Department with a special emphasis on Citywide budget development and financial analysis.

DEFINITION

Under general direction of the Department Head, performs a wide range of responsible, professional, administrative, staff assignments which include oversight of interdepartmental and City-wide projects and programs; and performs related work as required. As this is a management development position, the incumbent may be assigned temporarily to other departments to gain broad experience in various municipal functions.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Assist in program, policy and budget development, implementation, coordination, revision, review, evaluation and monitoring; participate in interdepartmental task forces and committees; research, compile and analyze financial and other data; prepare recommendations for budget requests, grants, new programs, modification of services and equipment; plan, organize and coordinate assigned City-wide projects and monitor departmental projects; analyze, interpret and explain City policies and procedures.

Ability to: Write and present reports and recommendations; speak before groups; properly interpret, explain and act in accordance with laws, regulations and policies; demonstrate competency in research and analysis, decision making, and management skills; and tactfully relate to the public, departmental managers, employees, other organizations and outside agencies. Work as a team member, function under demanding time pressure, respond in a positive manner to supervision, and attend work and perform duties on a regular and consistent basis.

Education: Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, with major course work in Public or Business Administration or related field.

Experience: Two years of full time, paid, responsible work experience in a fiscal or administrative capacity; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.

License: Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License.

THE POSITION

The City of Daly City is seeking a highly skilled, business-oriented Senior Management Analyst with strong accounting, budgeting and financial management background to assist in budget development, projection and implementation of Citywide budgets.  This position reports to the Assistant Director of Finance and plays a critical role on the City’s budget, working in partnership with other departments.

The successful candidate will prepare budget reports, complex financial forecast and analyses, update budget forecasting model, monitor revenues and expenditures, make presentations, and provide staff assistance in support of Citywide activities.

The Community Service Officer performs a variety of routine to complex field and administrative activities in support of police services and programs for the City’s Police Department. The position provides comprehensive non-sworn staff support to Police Department supervisory and management personnel on a wide variety of law enforcement programs, projects, and services; responds to public requests; and performs related duties, as assigned.

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Worker II - Streets is assigned to the Streets Division of the Public Works Department and is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks and operating power-driven road maintenance or construction equipment and trucks.

Examples of duties include:

• Operates and conducts essential maintenance using power-driven street and construction machinery, encompassing auxiliary equipment like gravel spreaders. Tasks include surface preparation for paving, cement mixing, pavement demolition, and operation of concrete cutting equipment.

• Loads, transports and unloads stone, gravel, dirt, asphalt, timber and other materials.

• Clean storm drains.

• Performs concrete work.

• Directs traffic, erects barricades and traffic signs.

• Participates in constructing or resurfacing streets with permanent paving materials.

Distinguished from the Accounting Assistant I by the amount of accounting experience required. An Accounting Assistant II works under general supervision and, within a framework of established procedures, is expected to perform a variety of more complex accounting duties with only occasional assistance.
