The Aging and Adult Services Division of San Mateo County Health is seeking a Deputy Public Guardian Conservatorship Investigator III (DPG). The position is on the Probate Conservatorship Investigation team and is the intake section of the San Mateo County Public Guardian program.

The team receives referrals from all sources, for individuals who are no longer able to make decisions for themselves due to a disabling condition other than mental health. The probate conservatorship investigators conduct a very involved inquiry into the individual's past and present life to prove to the court that there are no other alternatives to conservatorship that will allow the individual to continue to live independently in the community. Conservatorship is a very invasive process as it removes most of an individual's rights. Therefore, it is as a last resort that a petition for conservatorship is filed with the Superior Court.

The current vacancy is in the Aging and Adult Services Division located in San Mateo, but will drive to visit clients at various locations, attend meetings, and perform various duties of the position. This person will report to the Supervising Deputy Public Guardian of Aging and Adult Services.

DPG's have responsibility for managing estates and providing casework services. They administer complex property and litigation cases, prepare complex court reports and testify in Court as needed and may develop comprehensive care plans. DPG III's also provide lead direction and training to other deputies, serve as liaisons with specific County and State department and community agencies, handle those cases that present the greatest liability to the client and/or the County, and may provide 24-hour emergency response services.

The Controller's Office maintains the County’s financial systems and records, and prepares independently audited, award-winning annual financial reports that disclose the financial condition of the County to the public. Distinguishing Characteristics

Payroll/Personnel Coordinator IV is the lead or specialist level class in the Payroll/Personnel Coordinator series. This level is distinguished from the Payroll/Personnel Coordinator III in that the former is assigned to larger County departments with 24/7 operations, various locations, programs, and shifts or in central Human Resources or Controller's Office. At this level, work requires the analysis of unusual circumstances, understanding and proper application of complex and multiple labor contract provisions and assessing a variety of approaches to finding solutions. Actions to be taken or responses to be made differ in such things as the source of information, the kind of transaction or scenario, the type of employee and his/her eligibility for labor contract provisions. Positions at central HR and Controller's Office provide lead, guidance, and instructions to other departmental Coordinators.

THE POSITION

The current full-time opening is a professional level position requiring expertise in administrative, supervisory, and accounting functions and is under the direction of the Administrative Services Director.  The Accounting Manager oversees daily financial and accounting activities, supervises accounting staff; performs difficult and complex statistical analyses; assists with annual budget preparation; manages the annual financial audit; develops and distributes internal financial reports; plans and executes all risk management functions; and performs advanced professional, analytical, and administrative work. 

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Organization

The City of Pacifica is a General Law City incorporated in 1957 and operates under the Council/Manager form of government. THE DEPARTMENT

The Finance and Administrative Services Department provides high-quality support services to all City departments and the community, including Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Risk Management functions, and ensures compliance with City policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL AND IMPORTANT DUTIES

The Town of Los Altos Hills is currently looking to fill a key role within its Finance Department. The opportunities are at either the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager level.

The position is a promotional series and is responsible for the following:

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is the county’s largest provider of affordable housing, helping make rental housing safe and affordable for approximately 20,000 low-income households. 

How You Will Make an Impact:

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is looking for a skilled Accountant II to perform a range of complex and varied technical and professional accounting tasks. Key duties include auditing, analyzing, and verifying financial records and reports, preparing financial and statistical reports, assisting with budget preparation, and reconciling general ledger accounts. This role also involves preparing year-end audit reports and schedules, managing full-cycle Accounts Payable (A/P) functions, and coordinating Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) disbursements. The Accountant II acts as a liaison for disbursement-related activities with agency staff, vendors, contractors, and external partners while also providing backup support for payroll operations. Additionally, the role includes conducting financial analysis, developing internal controls, and interpreting Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines.

The Chief of Health holds a crucial executive position within the County and the broader San Mateo County healthcare community. As Chief, you will lead a diverse workforce of healthcare staff committed to helping County residents live longer and better lives.

Reporting to the County Executive, the Chief has responsibility for the development, operation, coordination, integration, and implementation of all of the County's health services and public health functions, and providing leadership for many cross-cutting initiatives. Challenges and Opportunities

• Serve as lead spokesperson on health issues related to the County's system of care and community health and as the County’s liaison to key stakeholders in negotiating an effective health care network.
• Maintain a management structure for all departments under the Chief’s purview that maximizes integration, effectiveness, and efficiency of service delivery.
• Direct and monitor a strategic planning process to map out the County's health priorities, policies, services, and population health initiatives.
• Continue to meet financial targets established by the County Executive.
• Assure that all essential public health functions are carried out appropriately.
• Provide regular reports to the County Executive and County Board of Supervisors on progress in meeting objectives of the strategic plan.
• Direct efforts with major partners, including the Health Plan of San Mateo and the State of California, to maximize opportunities for innovation and efficiency, while maximizing the ability of the County's health system to meet its obligations.
• Advocate for patients and communities served by assuring that the mission of the health services system is being met.
• Serve as a key leader within the County's Executive team to contribute to the County's key responsibilities and accountabilities to its residents.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Education: Equivalent to a master's degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, and/or Business Administration, or in a related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a multi-faceted health organization and/or healthcare system.
