Thousand Oaks Community Center- Bilingual Preschool/Pre-K Program (bilingual preferred)

Summary:
Under general supervision, develops and executes interactive programing to teach critical language, social and motor skills to preschool-aged or prekindergarten-aged children in a preschool setting; provides feed­back on student performance to parents; and performs other duties as assigned.

• Designs, organizes and updates curriculum according to child development framework; evaluates and analyzes success of programs and activities; adjusts programs to meet children’s needs.
• Orders and organizes classroom supplies and equipment; maintains associated budgets for supplies and equipment; places purchase orders according to the District’s policies and procedures.
• Provides guidance and direction to other teachers on all classroom activities; defines and assigns responsibilities of aides and volunteers.
• Maintains a safe and clean learning environment including daily cleaning, setup and breakdown of classroom.

Other Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plans special events, prepares calendar and promotes events.
• Organizes children’s files and follows the District’s record-retention standards, policies and procedures.
• Participates during disasters or when emergency response is needed.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: 
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: graduation from a two-year program with an associate degree in addition to having at least 2,000 hours of relevant work or volunteer experience with at least 12 units completed in early childhood develop­ment education. Therapeutic Recreation/ Old Meadows- Serving youth, teens and young adults with physical and intellectual disabilities

Part-Time position: up to 26 hours/week (may include evening/weekend hours)

The specific duties of the After School Program Site Lead include program and curriculum development and implementation, budget management, staff management, participation and coordination of staff development, and general oversight of the designated after school program. About The Position

The Alert and Warning Coordinator will be responsible for assessing the County's existing community alert and warning programs and systems in multiple languages for effectiveness, identifying service gaps, and recommending and implementing enhancements. This includes developing emergency notification and communication standards, protocols, and processes; managing vendor services and contracts; coordinating system access and training for authorized users; and initiating plans to integrate the County's program and system with the emergency functions of other government agencies, including Integrated Public Alert and Warning System and reversed 9-1-1.

Additionally, the Alert and Warning Coordinator will assist the County in identifying areas at risk for hazards and threats to the communication system, provide community education, and determine how to integrate community alert and warning systems with other technologies. The selected candidate will handle a variety of tasks to ensure the County's preparedness for any event, including participating in a weekly on-call rotation, maintaining 24-hour readiness, and responding to the field or Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during emergencies or disasters.

This crucial role will also require engaging with the public and stakeholder organizations, participating in advisory committees and work groups, and representing the County at all levels of government to develop a comprehensive emergency alert and warning program for the County of San Mateo.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Strong knowledge of IPAWS protocols.
• Familiarity with local state and federal regulations.
• The ability to understand the current use of technology in emergency response and implement these technologies at DEM.
• Excellent written communication skills, including experience in proposal, report, and grant writing.
• The ability to engage with the public and stakeholder organizations to identify and develop effective outreach strategies and create a holistic Alert and Warning program for the County.
• Proficiency in computer skills and operating standard computer applications, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet software, PowerPoint, and email communication.
• The ability to work with a wide variety of situations (field, office, EOC) and disciplines (law enforcement, fire services, and emergency medical personnel).
• The ability to work with information systems and can code in Python, Java, or C++.
• A valid California Driver's License (depending upon the assignment).
• Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) Courses 100, 200, 700, and 800.
• Completion of IS-247.C: Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) for Alert Originators and IS-248: Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) for the American Public.
• A Master’s Degree in public administration, emergency management, crisis communication, security studies, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• An understanding of Laws, rules, and regulation governing public communication and warnings.
• Knowledge of Information technology, including but not limited to radio communication systems, software, and hardware related to emergency management and communication.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Education : Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, emergency management or related discipline.

Experience : One year of experience having responsibility for assisting in program planning, development and budgeting in the public, military, or private organization, preferably related to emergency/disaster planning and management.

Tri-City Mental Health Authority is currently hiring to fill three (3) full-time vacancies for the position of Psychiatric Technician I/II within the Mobile Crisis Care Program (MCCP). Tri-City’s MCCP is a 24/7 mobile crisis response team with shifts that may include evenings, weekends, daytime hours, and holidays. Weekend and night shifts will be entitled to Shift Differential Pay of $2.50 per hour on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and $3.50 per hour on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Holiday shifts will be entitled to Holiday Pay.

Tri-City is looking for individuals to serve as a Psychiatric Technician I/II on a full-time basis for the MCCP. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will be part of a team that provides crisis intervention and stabilization, linkage and referral, consultation, and education within the scope of practice. The MCCP Psychiatric Technician will report to the Mobile Crisis Care Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Program Manager.

This position is responsible for a variety of ongoing responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Respond to client’s (Full-Service Partnership and Adult and Children’s Outpatient Programs and other specialty mental health services) crisis calls with or without law enforcement;

• Perform field-based and telephone emergency mental health evaluations and crisis stabilization in accordance with agency procedures;

• Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals, groups, and families;

• Identify treatment needs and make appropriate referrals for necessary services;

• Assist clients and relatives with understanding behavioral health problems and their reaction to them;

• Work on a multidisciplinary team for crisis response.

• Perform triage and linkages to non-client community members in the Tri-City catchment areas.

• Perform critical incident debriefs at the request of a community partner.

• Ability to respond to a mobile crisis in the community catchment area (Pomona, Claremont, and La Verne) within 60 minutes of disposition.

• Follow up with clients who receive mobile crisis services and collaborate with the client's treatment team for warm hand-off.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to calls during assigned shifts including: after regular business hours, late evenings, overnight hours, and on weekends; field work may be required.
