This position will serve as the primary contact for all applicants applying for housing assistance programs and the administration of rental assistance programs. The incumbent will perform technical and programmatic aspects, requiring the interpretation and application of regulations, policies, and procedures to determine the eligibility of program services, ensuring accurate processing of data, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience likely to provide the required core competencies may be considered. A typical combination that is qualifying may include:
• An associate degree with coursework in liberal arts, humanities, social work, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of responsible experience providing direct client services including caseload management functions with an assisted housing or other social services program and customer service.
• A bachelor’s degree is desirable.
• Bilingual skills are desired, but not required.

The Department

The Housing Department supports two of four City Council Focus Areas:
» Reducing Unsheltered Homelessness; and
» Attracting Investments in Jobs and Housing.

Since the Housing Department was established in 1987, the City has been a leader in affordable housing, creating more than 21,000 new housing opportunities for San José residents through funding affordable apartments, overseeing the Rent Stabilization Program that provides protection to both renters and mobile homeowners, and implementing innovative programs to preserve unrestricted affordable apartments. The Housing Department also strives to make homelessness in San José rare, brief, and one-time through the implementation of the Community Plan to End Homelessness. The City Government

While the Deputy Director provides leadership across the Housing Department, the position plays the integral role leading and sustaining an accomplished team in supporting the Reducing Unsheltered Homelessness City Council Focus Area. The Deputy Director reports to the Director and works collaboratively with Housing Department Leadership and City Management.

The Ideal Candidate

The Deputy Director will be an energetic, self-directed, forward-thinking leader who has a keen eye for details, is very organized, is an excellent writer, and understands or is curious about financing regulations. The Deputy Director will have a high legal, ethical, and moral compass and is one who thrives in a fast-paced, often-changing, and very busy environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable talking in public to various audiences and conducting community engagement. Master's degree in business administration or closely related field is desirable.

Experience : Six (6) years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience in senior level administrative and/or analytic work in a public or private agency.
 

• Ten (10) or more years of commercial lending, banking, or financing experience is strongly preferred.
• Ten (10) or more years' experience with rent subsidized multifamily or senior real estate development or redevelopment projects that achieved financial closing is strongly preferred.
• Experience managing a business unit equivalent to a major division within a public or private agency is strongly preferred.

Licenses :
Possession of a valid license authorizing operation of a motor vehicle in California may be required.

The Deputy Director salary range is currently $154,506.30 - $249,425.80 placement within this range will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the individual selected. The Role:

The City of Redwood City is seeking Firefighter Trainees who, under immediate supervision, actively participate in the Firefighter Academy training program. The Role:

Required Qualifications:

San Mateo County Health is excited to be able to offer a full-time, benefited, unique job opportunity to well-qualified individuals for the position of Supervising Nurse Practitioner (Supervising NP) Forensic Medical Unit, as part of San Mateo Medical Center's Keller Center.

The Keller Center for Family Violence Intervention is a unique outpatient medical unit affiliated with San Mateo Medical Center Emergency Department. We perform forensic medical exams on victims of assault and abuse and work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team that includes law enforcement, the District Attorney’s office, Child Protective Services, Aging and Adult Services, and several community agencies. We also provide education and serve as a resource for other community hospitals and clinics.

The Supervising Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with the Medical Director of Specialty Services and Deputy Director of Ambulatory Nursing in planning, organizing and directing the activities and staff of the Keller Center along with developing standards of practice for forensic exams and reporting. This classification is distinguished from the Nurse Practitioner Series for having full administrative supervisory responsibility over other Nurse Practitioners. The selected individual will spend up to 30% of time in direct patient care at SMMC, which includes performing forensic medical exams for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, elder abuse and child abuse. Testifying in court will be part of the job responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

• At least two years of forensic examination training and experience
• Trauma Informed Care training and experience
• Experience bringing diverse viewpoints and stakeholders together successfully to accomplish goals and commands the trust and respect of others
• Interest in team-based care and creating a positive patient experience, and has demonstrated innovation and initiative in realizing that vision
• Has overseen and led complex projects and coordinated interdisciplinary teams
• Has at least two years of experience in supervising and mentoring others
• At least three years of experience as a Practitioner, and a minimum of six months of lead or supervisory experience overseeing clinical care

Licensure/Certification:

• Possession of a California license as a Registered Nurse.

How You Will Make an Impact:

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA) is seeking an Asset Manager to provide professional, technical and administrative asset management duties in support of a portfolio of Agency owned assets. The Asset Manager ensures compliance with programmatic and financial regulations, oversees property operations, and works with property management to ensure the physical, financial and social well-being of affordable housing assets.  The Asset Management Division, along with the Real Estate Development Division, are part of SCCHA’s Real Estate Department.  The team working in Real Estate is mission oriented, dynamic and collaborative. The team works closely together to creatively develop new affordable housing as well as preserve existing assets.

This position requires extensive knowledge of property maintenance, construction project management, capital planning and systems management, budget preparation and financial modeling to analyze portfolio performance.

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in community development, business, economics, urban planning, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field; and

  • Completion of CA State Board of Fire Services Firefighter I curriculum or ability to obtain prior August 1, 2024.
  • Valid California Paramedic License (or equivalent) or ability to obtain prior to August 1, 2024.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Public Health Nurse Intern/Public Health Nurse in the Health and Human Services Department. This position provides the full range of public health nursing services including teaching, health assessment, and counseling services in homes, clinics, schools and community centers in connection with the prevention and control of diseases and adverse health conditions. Public Health Nurses are assigned to specific programs such as Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health, California Children’s Services, Child Health and Disability Prevention, Foster Care and communicable disease control. Performs related work as assigned.

Public Health Nurse Intern: is a recruiting and training level class established to qualify candidates for duties as a PHN in Yuba County Health & Human Services Department. Under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of public health nursing duties in assigned program areas while pursuing a Public Health Nurse Certification. Upon satisfactory completion of the PHN Certification, the PHN Intern are eligible for promotion to the level of PHN. Incumbents who do not successfully complete the PHN certification as prescribed herein may be released from employment.

Public Health Nurse: is the entry level in this class series. Initially under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of public health nursing duties in assigned program areas. As experience is gained, assignments become more complex and are performed under more general supervision.
