PAL (Police Activities League) Program Attendants work in the formal Suisun City classification of Recreation Specialist I. Starting hourly rate will depend on qualifications. This position works on average 19 hours per week.

The Department: The Recreation, Parks and Marina Department is responsible for the operations and programs of the Suisun City Marina, the Senior Center and the Joseph A. Nelson Center, including preschool, after-school programs at various sites, recreation classes and sports leagues, community events and special event rentals.

The Position: PAL Program Attendants work with Suisun City’s PAL Program and with area teenagers ages 13-19 to implement educational and recreational activities: tutoring, sports, games, mini-excursions, competitions, contests, seminars, and special events, and provide general support to the program’s Recreation Supervisor. What You’ll Do:

The Assistant/Associate Engineer will help support efforts to accomplish short and long-term project deliveries, while sustaining the City’s mission, vision, and goals. The position is considered for the following field of interest:

• The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Division’s key assignments include planning, designing, reviewing, and preparing detailed engineering plans, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, contracts, and related documents for a variety of capital improvement projects. Roles include project manager and construction manager, with duties that include leading coordination meetings, interfacing with construction contractors, outside engineering firms, construction inspectors, and other public agencies.

Representative Duties

1.      Perform a variety of professional accounting functions supporting City-wide operations; maintain accuracy of general, revenue, and expenditure ledgers and subsidiary financial systems.

2.      Reconcile financial ledgers and records; prepare financial statements and reports, general and subsidiary ledgers and supporting schedules; research and resolve discrepancies.

3.      Review and audit all accounts payable, purchase orders, cash receipts, business licenses, payroll, utility billing, and other accounting records and transactions; ensure money is posted to correct accounts and that all accounts balance.

4.      Provide assistance in the development of the annual budget; assist in the review and validation of the annual City budget; create a variety of spreadsheets, documents, and graphs; assist in preparing the final budget document for approval by City Council.

The incumbent will be a vital member of our team! With a focus on capital improvement projects, our Associate Engineer performs a variety of professional-level engineering work including development, CIP and other City plans regarding stormwater management, streets, transportation and public buildings.

• Perform a full range of professional level engineering duties in support of the City’s public works engineering projects, services, and activities including design and construction programs for City streets, storm drains, sewer lines, traffic, and related capital improvement programs.
• Perform plan check, review, and processing of plans for projects affecting City streets, sewers, drains, and related public works facilities; review engineering design and construction plans, drawings, specifications, contract documents, cost estimates, engineering calculations, and related documents prepared by consulting engineers and contractors for compliance with professional and City standards and practices; coordinate reviews with other departments and agencies.
• Prepare designs and specifications for assigned projects; develop engineering drawings, construction plans, specifications, contract documents, bid documents, calculations, and cost estimates for proposed projects; research project design requirements; prepare estimates of time and material costs.
