What You’ll Do

• Receive on-the-job training, learn, and perform work in the following police records functions:
• Meet and assist the public at the Police Department reception counter and provide information according to City policy and Government Code requirements.
• Answer non-emergency heavy volume, incoming telephone calls.
• Operate machines and technology including but not limited to a computer, facsimile, copier/scanner/printer, calculator, desk-top computer, and a telecommunication terminal accessing County, State and National law enforcement automated information systems.
• Type, process, scan, and file a wide variety of police reports, warrants, subpoenas, citations, registrant files and court ordered record sealings utilizing various types of technology.
• Verify computer entries, process validations and assist with state and federal audits.
• Maintain logs for state and federal computer entries and updates.
• Retrieve and review daily crime reports for accuracy prior to submission to the District Attorney.
• Operate and organize a Department Records Management System to retrieve information such as searches for names, incidents, reports, and calls for service.
• Disseminate records information to department staff, outside law enforcement agencies, the public and other employees according to established laws and guidelines.
• Keep current on continuous changes and additions in report release requirements.
• Handle citizen complaints at the reception counter and on the telephone.
• Assist in training new and other assigned personnel.
• Perform record checks for authorized agencies in strict accordance with the law.
• Process vehicle release forms and collect fees.
• Process mail and order supplies.
• Purge department and citywide files as required.
• Assist in developing procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

If assigned to the Property Unit, duties may include but not limited to:

• Receive and maintain the chain of custody and integrity of, and safely store evidence, found property, and property held for safekeeping.
• Advise staff on proper packaging and submission procedures.
• Conduct inventories and audits of property and evidence.
• Release property to the public or the legally authorized persons in accordance with disposition forms, court orders, or stipulations.
• Check out items needed for court, investigations, and forensic testing; share evidence needed for investigation or review; transport items to and from laboratory and maintain strict records of chain of custody.
• Testify in court to verify chain of custody records of evidence.
• Make arrangements for auction of unclaimed property.

 DEFINITION

Under supervision, performs sub-professional engineering office work related to Public Works improvements; elementary field surveying; computer-aided drafting and design work; and related work as required.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Performs a wide variety of responsible sub-professional engineering work; computes and posts simple engineering data; computer-aided drafting, design, and mapping; revises, reviews, files, and updates engineering plans and maps; assists field survey and traffic survey crews as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of: The elementary principles of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry; drafting symbols used in construction work; basic engineering office equipment; modern personal computers and related computer software; principles and practical application of computer-aided drafting, design, and mapping systems.

Ability to: Learn the use of surveying equipment and techniques; learn basic construction inspection procedures; accurately make and verify mathematical computations; perform neat and accurate drafting; collect engineering field data, and make field notes; maintain accurate records; effectively operate computer-aided drafting, design and mapping software; effectively use modern office software; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; work flexible hours; deal effectively and courteously with the public and general contractors; attend work and perform duties as assigned.

Education: Completion of 45 semester college units with major in civil engineering or related course of study.

License: Possession of valid Class C California Driver's License.

Role Description

As a Clinical Psychologist for the County Adult Assistance Program(CAAP), you will conduct professional-level work in screening and assessing CalWORKS and CAAP clients to identify and document disabling mental health conditions and associated functional limitations that enable them to qualify for Social Security Benefits.

Essential Duties Include:

• Conducts screening and assessment of clients with mental health related complaints, collateral interviews with primary care and behavioral health staff, and medical records review to support clients’ application for Social Security Benefits.
• Selects, administers, scores, and interprets appropriate psychological tests of intelligence, personality, aptitude, achievement, interest and other specialized areas and conducts diagnostic clinical interviews with emotionally disturbed, mentally ill, chemically dependent, and intellectually disabled adults to assess their impairments to provide medical evidence in support of clients’ application for Social Security Benefits as needed.
• Prepares psychological reports presenting diagnostic findings, interview findings, functional assessments, clinical evaluations, and recommendations for the Clients’ SSI eligibility.
• Reviews and evaluates psychological, psychiatric and/or neuropsychological data and case material.
• Provides education, consultation, and information to community providers, and CAAP’s multi-disciplinary team on adult adjustment problems, mental illness, chemical dependence, culturally relevant services, and other topics related to SSI eligibility.
• Supervises psychology interns and subordinate clinical staff not including class 2574 Clinical Psychologist; conducts staff training programs both within the clinic or unit and for line agency personnel.

Senior Electrical Engineer

Position Summary

 

Under direction, perform varied professional and electrical engineering work at an advanced level of difficulty in the field and office. Perform assessments of and prepare written reports documenting the existing electrical systems and loads at existing facilities. Work with other engineers and technicians on design of new facilities and rehabilitation/retrofit of existing facilities. May supervise subordinate engineering personnel engaged in design and construction work. May act as resident engineer on major capital improvement projects and as oversight engineer on in-house maintenance and repair projects. Interpret, explain and carry out electrical engineering design, inspection and construction methods and procedures. Responsibilities include regular contact with other professional engineering personnel, as well as contractors and their representatives, and the general public, obtaining and providing technical electrical engineering data and information, preparing, checking and reviewing detailed and complex electrical engineering plans, specifications and related reports. Perform related duties as required.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

• Performs assessments of electrical systems and prepare written reports documenting the capacity and limitations of the systems
• Performs detailed engineering calculations and analysis in connection with electrical design of utility systems for transportation facilities 
• Prepares and supervises the preparation of detailed electrical engineering designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates and quantity estimates for a wide range of electrical construction and maintenance projects
• Works with other in-house and consultant engineering professionals and technicians to develop, prepare and finalize complete sets of construction bid documents for capital improvement and other construction projects 
• Reviews consultants submittals and work products to ensure compliance with required scope of work and deliverables 
• Reviews contractors' work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
• Plans, schedules and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work either as part of a major project or for an entire project of smaller scope
• Makes investigations of contractual and construction problems that may arise on construction projects
• Inspects and supervises a wide variety of ordinary and complex construction projects to ensure compliance with contract plans and specifications
• Assists in the preparation of complex contract documents
• Conducts correspondence and prepare technical engineering reports in connection with a wide variety of projects
• Knows and follows the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicable to their job
• Ensures that employees under their supervision follow established safe work practices and obey all safety rules
• Meets and consults with department officials, engineers and contractors on technical engineering matters

Minimum Qualifications

 

Education and/or Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Five years position-related electrical engineering experience, including design, estimate and specification preparation and the inspection of construction work
• One-year supervisory experience is desirable

 

Required Licenses:  

• Registration (P.E. license) as an Electrical Engineer in the state of California. Must have a PE license as an Electrical Engineer for at least 5 years. 
• Must possess and maintain a current, valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record. No reckless driving and DUI infractions within the last 7 years. No more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years. May operate District vehicles.

 

Physical Requirement: 

• Must inspect construction work on the Golden Gate Bridge, other structures and buildings, climb scaffolds, catwalks and ladders
• Carry test, inspection and electrical equipment that may weigh up to 50 pounds

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Perform a wide variety of professional District-wide accounting and internal auditing duties; assure compliance with applicable laws, codes rules and regulations such as the Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB) pronouncements.

Account for categorical income, expenditures and resource balances by resource, site and program year; initiate and process expenditure transfer requests; adjust and modify journal entries.

Participate in the planning and preparation of the Districts annual budget related to categorical programs; analyze budget and accounting information for validity and appropriate recordation; perform research and prepare adjustments to accounts as necessary.

Prepare and submit a variety of financial reports; prepare materials for the Board of Education and provide assistance in interpreting financial reports and accounting procedures as requested.

Maintain an annual log of activities describing the status of new and on-going programs; provide management and administration with an accurate reference regarding new and on-going programs, due dates for application, requirements for compliance reporting and claims for reimbursements.

Maintain categorical program files including permanent records of grants and entitlement notices and receipts, copies of Board approvals, applications, financial reports and compliance evaluations.

Interpret and apply applicable rules, codes, and regulations related to indirect costs, carryover provisions, general and restricted use of funds and other compliance requirements.

Communicate with and provide information to various District departments and employees to resolve accounting issues and explain interpretation of laws, rules and regulations related to assigned activities; assist in the preparation of financial information included in the State Annual Financial Report.

Serve as a liaison between the District and the provider of mandated cost claims services; assure the District receives the maximum reimbursements for State and federal mandated activities.

Serve as the liaison with the District provider of Medical administrative billing services; assure an orderly compilation of reimbursable hours.

Provide information and assistance to external auditors; respond to audit questions related to categorical programs, mandated costs and Medical administrative billing activities.

Operate a computer and assigned software systems; operate standard office equipment.

Assist in the development of accounting and budgeting procedures for departmental functions; make recommendations regarding accounting or internal control procedures as appropriate.

Train and provide work direction and guidance to staff as directed.
