Under general supervision, a Police Officer is responsible for the performance of law enforcement duties to protect life and property in accordance with applicable laws, to carry out special assignments as necessary, and other related duties as assigned. Requirements:

Candidates must have completed a California P.O.S.T. Certified Police Academy. Must be 21 years of age as of the appointment date, high school graduate or G.E.D., (as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education), and U.S. citizen or a permanent resident alien who is eligible and has applied for citizenship.

Out-of-State Candidates:

The California Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) will conduct an evaluation of all out-of-state training. POST is the sole authority on applicable training and determines whether the candidate must attend an abbreviated academy, or a regular police academy. If an academy is required, the candidate will be hired as a Police Officer Trainee. Upon completion of the academy, promotion will be made to Police Officer.

Selection Process:

All qualified applicants will be invited to appear before an Oral Appraisal Board. Applicants passing the Oral Board examination will be placed on the eligibility list based on their Oral Appraisal Board rankings. Prospective employees will be required to pass a physical agility examination and undergo a thorough background investigation including a medical, psychological, polygraph and drug/alcohol screening.

The Department:
The Santa Clara City Library is a department of the City and has positioned itself as a dynamic community hub, providing access to information, literacy resources, educational programming, and promotes civic engagement in Santa Clara. The Library Department is organized into seven divisions: Administration, Adult Services, Branch Services, Customer Services, Facilities, Technical and Technology Services and Youth Services. The Position:
This is an entry-level, as-needed position, requiring no previous training or experience.  After training, a Library Page is assigned routine tasks and duties, and works under direct supervision. VTA’s Real Estate & Transit-Oriented Communities (RETOD/C) team is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as Associate Transit-Oriented Development Project Manager (Associate Real Estate Agent – TOD). The Associate TOD Project Manager will play a crucial role in creating vibrant, equitable, transit-oriented communities throughout Santa Clara County.

Definition
Under direction, the Associate Real Estate Agent, Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) performs a variety of pre-development, planning, transactional, project management, and program support work for Transit-Oriented Development on VTA-owned sites and Transit-Oriented Communities (TOC) and in surrounding station areas.

Distinguishing Characteristics
This is the journey level classification in the Real Estate Agent, TOD class series. Incumbents at this level work independently on complex real estate functional areas including planning, development negotiations and agreements, and general administration. The primary duties and responsibilities of this class include day to day project management of TOD projects; support of management and coordination of planning, community and stakeholder engagement, and predevelopment activities for TOD and TOC projects; agreements related to TOD projects and TOC, including transaction-related documents, ground leases, grant agreements, cooperative agreements, memoranda of understanding, and assistance with administrative functions of the Real Estate & TOD Department; and program management duties related to real estate acquisition for capital projects, asset management, and revenue generation for VTA.  
 
This classification is distinguished from Associate Real Estate Agent in that the former focuses on TOD and TOC project management, whereas the latter focuses on real estate acquisition, appraisal, relocation and related dues in support of VTA capital projects.

VTA Real Estate is responsible for acquisition of property interests and management of VTA property rights and related agreements. VTA Operations' Facilities Maintenance is responsible for physical maintenance and ongoing repairs and improvements to properties that VTA owns and uses, including the River Oaks Headquarters, Bus and Light Rail Yards, Transit Centers (including Milpitas and Berryessa), and transit right-of-way. Essential Job Functions

Typical Tasks

• Oversees and performs work related to major TOD and TOC projects that encompass residential, commercial, and other types of real estate development, including review, evaluation, and approval of architectural, planning, engineering, environmental, financial, and real estate appraisal work product produced for VTA as well as by other parties;

Minimum Qualifications

Employment Standards

Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through a combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a four-year degree in public or business administration, finance, real estate, planning, or a related field, and two years of increasingly responsible experience in real estate project management, acquisition and planning, development, property management, or interagency agreement and financial transaction development, with at least one years in a project lead or supervisory capacity.  Project management experience for real estate projects is preferred. Way, Power & Signal Maintenance is responsible for timely and reliable maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repair and servicing of the light rail right-of-way, rail system power, tracks, signals, station facilities and related equipment. Components of the Way, Power & Signal unit are:

• Station & Wayside Maintenance: Station & Wayside Maintenance maintains and repairs (including graffiti removal) light rail stations, terminal buildings, restrooms, park & ride lots, landscaping, fences, guardrails, and other trackside areas.

• Track Maintenance: Track Maintenance maintains (including right-of-way weed eradication, vegetation control, and graffiti removal), performs preventive maintenance, inspects, services and repairs rail, switches, ties, roadbed, and track systems.

• Power Maintenance: Power Maintenance maintains (including trackside right-of-way tree trimming), performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services light rail electric power systems, including overhead, substations, lighting, and other electrical systems.

• Signal Maintenance: Signal Maintenance maintains, performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services signal systems, crossing gates, fare machines, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) controls, and station audio/video equipment.

• Passenger Facilities Maintenance: Passenger Facilities Maintenance maintains, performs preventive maintenance, inspects, repairs, and services all VTA-maintained passenger facilities, including bus stops. Services include: bench installation, painting and repair, core drilling for poles at new bus stops, garbage collection, trash receptacle installation and relocation, graffiti abatement, litter removal, pressure washing, red curb painting, signage inspection, route updates, and sweeping services. Typical Tasks

• Inspects, maintains, and repairs rail signaling and safety systems, including approach circuitry, transponders, switch controls, relays, preemptor controls and crossing gates; designs, constructs, and installs temporary interlocks and turnbacks;
• Monitors, maintains, modifies, installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and supports the light rail SCADA system hardware, software and LAN network devices; creates displays and alarms; uses diagnostic tools to identify and resolve network problems;
• Inspects, maintains, repairs, and administers Ticket Vending Machine master controllers, LAN, and network devices;
• Inspects, maintains, and repairs communication systems, including telephone equipment and switches, visual message boards, paging and speaker systems, and other related equipment;
• Maintains electrical equipment and systems, including mobility-impaired lifts, station lighting and electrical systems, and backup generator systems;
• Drives trucks and other vehicles; Uses and maintains tools and equipment in good working condition;
• Prepares and maintains reports and records of work performed;
• Reviews construction plans and specifications, and performs electrical inspections of new construction projects;
• Performs routine electrical construction duties using hand and power tools;
• Performs limited maintenance on light rail station elevators and escalators;
• May provide lead work direction and training to other employees.

Minimum Qualifications

Employment Standards
Development of the required knowledge, skills and abilities is typically obtained through completion of a two year program at a recognized academic, trade or vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship in the trade; and three years of journey-level experience in the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and communications systems.

• Theories, practices, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the installation, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic, supervisory control and communications systems, and devices applicable to a light rail system;
• Practices, methods, techniques, tools and equipment used in the testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of signal and safety systems;
• Laws, ordinances and regulations governing electrical construction;

Location: Teen Center

Part-time position: up to 20 hours per week 

Hourly Range: $23.86 - $29.00

Summary: 
Under general supervision, facilitates youth engagement through prevention programming and provides ongoing support, crisis intervention, community social service referrals, and coaching for the teen population; and performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identifies and directly engages hard-to-reach middle and high school students; builds trust through positive communication; conducts individual and group meetings with students to provide support in mentor/mentee relationships; provides safe space for teens to express challenges; assists youth population in utilizing coping mechanisms in crisis situations; offers possible solutions to prevent recurrence of problems.
• Redirects youth into socially acceptable behaviors and socially constructive lifestyles through employment, education and recreation; models positive behavior through engagement in productive activities such as neighborhood teen clubs and camps; guides teens in goal setting and self-esteem building in high-risk populations.
• Assists youths in recognizing the consequences of their decisions; supports building life/social skills and developing executive function to enable students to become responsible members at school, in the community and at home.
• Provides ongoing and crisis coaching, researches and identifies referral services, makes referrals to proper units, communicates with responsible adults to prevent youth involvement in the justice system.
• Frequents local commercial complexes, parks and various community hot spots to interact and maintain positive contacts with store vendors, teens and gang-affiliated indivi­duals; promotes contact with hard-to-reach teens, preserves confidentiality of communi­cation when possible; networks with neighborhood and community organizations.

Qualifications:
