The Port of San Francisco is an enterprise agency of the City and County of San Francisco and is governed by a Commission of five members appointed by the Mayor. Waterfront Resilience Program (WRP)

The Waterfront Resilience Program (WRP) is a multi-decade, multi-hazard Program led by the Port of San Francisco with the goal of adapting the Bay waterfront along the Port’s 7.5-mile jurisdiction to address multiple hazards including coastal and combined flooding, sea level rise and earthquakes. The Port and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) released the San Francisco Waterfront Coastal Flood Study Integrated Feasibility Study and Environmental Impact Statement (Flood Study), including a $13.5 billion Draft Plan for adapting the waterfront for public review in February 2024. The Port is also implementing construction to mitigate risks that can be initiated in the near term (Early Projects) funded by Proposition A, the Seawall Earthquake Safety Bond, and other sources.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Waterfront Resilience Director, the Waterfront Resilience Program (WRP) Deputy Program Manager - Environmental develops the programmatic strategy for planning and execution of nature-based adaptation strategies, investigation and remediation of hazardous materials, and permitting and environmental review for all WRP activities through 2030 and beyond, including managing staff, consultants, and public and resource agency engagement.

This position is a key leadership position within the WRP, working collaboratively alongside the WRP Deputy Program Manager – Engineering & Project Delivery, WRP Deputy Program Manager – Planning, and WRP Flood Study Project Manager.

The essential functions of this position include:

• Oversees the planning and execution of nature-based adaptation strategies, including the Living Seawall Pilot and the Engineering with Nature Working Group in coordination with the Waterfront Resilience Program Deputy Program Manager – Planning and the Flood Study Project Manager. 
• Oversees the planning and execution of investigation and remediation of hazardous materials related to specific Early Projects and the USACE Flood Study.
• Oversees the planning and execution of environmental studies, including environmental review and analysis required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
• As a Program leader, sets the example of the Program culture of caring including, but not limited to, safety, inclusion, diversity, and equity.
• Coordinates input of Port staff into all relevant Early Project and Flood Study permitting and environmental review.
• In consultation with the Deputy Program Manager – Planning and the Flood Study Project Manager, develops and oversees the Engagement Plan for the Resource Agency Working Group, which includes a broad range of regulatory and resource agencies with jurisdiction over construction activities in San Francisco Bay.
• Collaborates with Deputy Program Manager – Engineering and Project Delivery to develop messaging and strategy with the permitting agencies (name them) related to Early Projects.
• Coordinates with City Planning Department (Environmental Planning) to conduct CEQA/NEPA for the Early Projects and the Flood Study and subsequent design and construction.
• Manages and approves the deliverables of environmental consultants.
• For the Flood Study, oversees the analysis and selection of the Least Damaging Practicable Alternative (LEDPA) under the Clean Water Act.
• Ensures strategic coordination and consultation on resilience permitting and regulatory issues for individual projects.
• Oversees the CEQA/NEPA effort for the USACE Flood Study which will be managed by the Flood Study Project Manager.
• Oversees environmental team input to design and environmental compliance during construction.
• Works collaboratively with all members of the WRP team to identify and resolve issues promptly, escalating issues for resolution to the Waterfront Resilience Director, the Assistant Port Director and the Port Director as required.
• Provides support and guidance to USACE Flood Study team members to deliver the Study.
• Supervises environmental and permitting staff assigned to the Waterfront Resilience Program.

THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael is recruiting for a Child Care Director.  Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, this position will perform responsible work in administering and managing a state-funded preschool program.  The incumbent in this position will independently oversee the program and staff at Pickleweed Preschool located in East San Rafael. 

This position performs the following essential job duties: 

• Assist with the establishment of the program budget
• Hire, train, and supervise staff
• Supervise timely completion of annual ECERS
• Supervise completion of DRDP assessments twice annually
• Supervise timely completion of parent surveys
• Supervise timely completion of two parent conferences annually
• Supervise timely ongoing child portfolios
• Supervise and implement systems for creating and maintaining regular written child observations
• Complete annual June 1st report to Department of Education
• Schedule staff and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained
• Facilitate parent nights for families four times per year
• Liaison with parents and school districts
• Function as classroom instructor
• Approve Child Care Instructor II curriculum and plans
• Organize regular staff meetings
• Oversees referrals of children for assessment and special services
• Complete annual written evaluations of all staff
• Perform other duties as required.

To be eligible for this position you must have knowledge/skill of:

• Early Childhood Development

Woodside Fire Protection District offers an exceptional Cadet Program for individuals interested in a career in the Fire Service. Cadets gain hands-on experience participating in training and public service events. Cadets work 24-hour shifts and ride-along on emergency calls.

Woodside Cadets will work and be involved in:

Community Outreach: Summer Youth Volunteers Project Plan 

The Community Outreach team is seeking a summer intern for a 10–12-week assignment.  The goal of the internship is to gain valuable experience managing high school aged volunteers that will support a variety of summer camps and programs throughout the district.  

Key duties 

• Be primary point of contact for Summer Youth Volunteers. 

• Assist with volunteer orientation and ongoing training sessions throughout the summer.

• Create program completion documents.
