POST Academy Graduate: Possess a Certified POST Basic Course Certificate of at least 800 hours issued within 3 years of submitting an application (copy of California POST Academy Certificate must accompany application).

POST Academy Attendee: Currently enrolled in a POST Basic Academy as a “non-affiliate,” of at least 800 hours. (Letter from academy verifying current enrollment must accompany application).

Education: Graduation from a U.S. High School or the equivalent with additional education at the community college level preferred.

Qualifications: Minimum 21 years of age at time of examination and must meet standards of adequate physical stature, endurance, and agility.

Licenses or Certificates:

• Ability to obtain an appropriate California Driver’s license, which must be maintained as a condition of employment.

Selection Process:

The Examination Process will consist of the following independent parts: 

1. Examination process will first consist of a review of application materials including the responses to supplemental questionnaire and applicable POST enrollment verification or certification.

2. The most suitable and qualified candidate(s) may receive a Personal History Statement (PHS) via e-mail to complete and return. 

3. Based on a Personal History Statement review, candidate(s) may be scheduled for an oral panel interview. 

4. Upon successful completion of the oral panel interview, candidate(s) may be placed on an eligible employment list which will be used for the appointment to the position.

Possession of minimum qualifications does not guarantee advancement in the selection process and placement on the eligible employment list. Appeals concerning administration of an examination must be submitted in writing within 2-business days from the date the event occurred.

Before a conditional employment offer is made, a thorough background check will be done, including a polygraph and fingerprint check.  If successful, candidates are then required to successfully pass a psychological, medical examination, a drug screen, and must be able to furnish proof of legal right to work in the United States. Candidates may be disqualified at any point in this process.

State and Federal Law require that all police officers be free from felony or domestic violence convictions. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or resident aliens that are eligible and have applied for U.S. Citizenship.

DEFINITION: Under general supervision, assists instructor in swim classes, enforces all rules and regulations pertaining to the safety and well-being of visitors and patrons. Perform related work as required. NOTE: This program provides on the job training to prepare a swim aide to become a Swim Instructor. This entry-level aquatics position is designed to give valuable training and orientation to the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program, and the Mill Valley Aquatics Program for Individuals who desire to work in aquatics but don’t have required experience. Minimum age required to apply, 14 years old. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

• Assist Swim Instructor to provide all levels of swimming to all age groups.
• Follow the Instructors’ guidelines and directions working with the group or an individual as needed.
• Maintain certain class records and reports as required.
• Prepare instructional equipment, and clean up after classes.

THE POSITION

Under general direction, supervises, evaluates, plans and participates in the day-to-day operations of the City’s wastewater treatment plant and facilities as well as the water system and infrastructure; assists in the preparation and administration of the division budget; evaluates and trains assigned staff; interfaces with and coordinates assigned functions with other City services and departments; represents wastewater treatment plant and water system operations with governmental regulatory agencies; ensures work quality and accuracy and safe work practices; serves as a technical resource for assigned work crews and the department Director; performs other management related duties as required. 

DISTINGUISING CHARACTERISTICS:

The Utilities Superintendent is part of the mid-management level class responsible for assigning and supervising the day-to-day operation, development, repair and maintenance of the City’s wastewater treatment plant and facilities as well as the water system and infrastructure. THE POSITION

Under general supervision of a Police Sergeant, the Reserve Police Officer is a sworn position assigned to field operations to patrol for the prevention and detection of crime and enforcement of laws and regulations within the philosophy of community oriented policing.  Incumbents are normally expected to solve most work problems independently and to refer to supervisory personnel only those matters which involve policy decisions, technical questions and unusual problems at the entry level and make recommendations at the advanced level.

The City of Patterson is recruiting for a Firefighter Paramedic.  This safety position will respond to fire alarms, emergency medical calls, traffic accidents, rescue and other emergency calls to protect life and property.  This position will also participate in trainings, drills, study activities and in the maintenance of the department apparatus, equipment, and facilities.  Under the supervision of the Fire Engineer or Fire Captain, performs ALS care to patients of medical emergencies and other medical procedures. The position offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package which includes County funded malpractice insurance, pension plans and health benefits for retirees, 5% match into deferred comp, reimbursement of professional dues and expenses (up to $3,000/year), an additional 5% increase in salary for each qualifying Board certification up to two (2) Boards, administrative leave time at 5 hours per pay period up to 260 hours (this is prorated for part time employees) that can be used as time off or cashed out up to 50%, three days of Winter Recess (24 total hours) leave time, and a wellness program, including exercise classes, worksite massage, and an onsite gym. BHRS positions include a hybrid model of remote work, which may continue in the future.

The North County Behavioral Health Center serves multiple large cultural populations. We are also specifically seeking bicultural candidates and/or candidates who demonstrate cultural literacy, sensitivity, and a strong desire to work with Filipino, Latino, and/or Asian populations.

 

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include but are not limited to the following: 

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and make diagnoses.
• Prescribe appropriate treatment plans and prescribe therapy, psychotherapy, rehabilitation programs, and medications as needed.
• Medication management, including Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) as needed.
• Coordinate the work of consulting medical specialists.
• Act as physician member of a multi-disciplinary team for clinical work or program development.
• Train and supervise medical students, interns and residents.
• Provide clinical supervision to licensed and professional staff.
• Prepare reports and maintain records of activities.
• Conduct and direct individual and group psychotherapy.
• Consult and work with other medical and/or mental health professionals in the community when necessary.
• Confer with clients' relatives or loved ones regarding illness and treatment.
• Maintain electronic records of diagnosis, treatment and prognosis according to BHRS standards and other regulatory agencies.
• Develop comprehensive case histories.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Board Certification or completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program.

Licensure/Certification:

• License to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of California.
• Possession of a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
