The Position

The Retirement Technology Officer will have full programmatic responsibility for all complex technology and automation functions in SamCERA. They will plan, organize, review, and direct all information technology functions and activities within SamCERA; develop and implement short- and long-range automation tactics and strategies; develop standards and policies; and train and direct assigned personnel.

This position is distinguished from other County information technology manager positions by its full responsibility for multiple technologies utilized in SamCERA and will exercise direct supervision over technical employees. The Retirement Technology Officer will receive general direction from the Assistant Executive Officer.

Challenging aspects of the job:

As the Retirement Technology Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing all technology aspects of a $6.4 billion pension system, which includes but is not limited to, working with multiple vendors and ensuring agreed-upon work is being performed, negotiating IT agreements, keeping up to date on regulatory changes and latest technology trends, managing IT projects and mitigating data security risks.

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is seven years of experience, including five years in a management level responsible for managing automated systems, application project and staff.

The Position

The Police Public Service Assistant (PSA) III is assigned to the Police Department’s Crime Lab and provides support to the Forensic Specialists and Crime Scene Investigators during operations in the Crime Lab. The Police Public Service Assistant III position requires excellent customer service and communication skills.

Examples of job duties include:

• Ordering and purchasing supplies.
• Re-supply evidence packaging area and appropriate lab areas.
• Clerical tasks, to include typing, running stats, electronic filing tasks, etc.
• Pick up and return evidence as needed.
• Pick up and deliver equipment and supplies.
• Arrange logistical operations within the lab and evidence packaging area including but not limited to arranging chemical waste and sharps removal, filter replacement, etc.
• Minor maintenance on office or lab equipment as required.
• Assist in assembling print kits for evidence collection.
• Identify and communicate with police, and outside vendors to complete job duties.
• Escorts outside vendors while they conduct business on the police campus.

The Human Services Agency (HSA) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Homeless Encampment Strategies Analyst within the Human Services Agency (HSA) division of Center on Homelessness. to provide a variety of analytical and administrative services related to the Encampment Resolution Funding (ERF) grant.

The County’s $14 Million ERF Grant will fund a wide array of coordinated services to unhoused residents currently living in encampments, with a focus on interim and permanent housing solutions using a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to services.

The Homeless Encampment Strategies Analyst will conduct a variety of duties such as; conduct program and fiscal planning, contract monitoring and program evaluation; negotiate and write contracts, request for proposals, grants and reports; administer grants; analyze data; coordinate projects; assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures; provide technical assistance to contractors; and act as a liaison to other County departments and partnering agencies.

Homeless Encampment Strategies Analyst responsibilities generally include the following, but are specialized to each position's focus area: acting as the contract monitor for services such as homeless outreach teams, homeless shelters, rapid rehousing programs, conducting grant administration and grant tracking; working closely with community-based homeless and safety net programs on a variety of projects related to homeless services.

Homeless Encampment Strategies Analyst responsibilities also include data analysis, developing and monitoring contracts for homeless and housing services, reviewing invoices and contractor reports, and working closely with contacted service providers, other County departments, and other community partners. Other duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Project management such as creating project documents, tracking status and conducting follow ups to ensure milestones are met.
• Collaborative work with contracted service providers regarding coordination of client services.
• Detailed monitoring of services and outcomes of contracted services.
• Manage and continuously update relevant data in our Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), monitor data quality and clean data as needed.
• This includes maintaining a list and map of all encampments, as well as a list of all clients in the encampments.
• Analyze and interpret data to build reports.
• Build presentations for County leadership and partners.
• Communicate data, reports, and presentations effectively visually, verbally, and in writing.
• Coordinate community committees including agenda setting, note taking and follow up.
• Provide technical assistance to homeless and safety net service providers on service standards, best practice models, and data entry processes.
• Research policies and best practices in homeless and safety net services.
• Complete grant tracking and reporting.
• Write and coordinate Request for Proposal processes when needed.
• Write grant applications when required.
• Track and ensure compliance with grant/s.
• Need more data tasks related to the grant.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify for a Human Services Analyst II is two years of experience performing journey level administrative and analytical duties in a human services or related agency.

The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for Extra Help-Cook within the Yuba County Jail. Under close supervision, prepares and provides institutional meals following federal and state nutritional guidelines, and performs other duties as assigned.  Yuba County staffs the Cook classification at the County Jail division in the Sheriff’s department  This position performs a full range of tasks associated with the preparation and distribution of meals to juvenile detainees and adult inmates.  The incumbent ensures that properly prepared nutritional meals are produced in a large volume, institutional setting.  Responsibilities also include overseeing detainees and/or inmates and institution workers assisting with food preparation. 

For successful performance, the incumbent would be required to have knowledge of principles, methods and equipment used in high volume meal preparation in an institutional setting; basic food groups and nutritional values; safe work practices related to food preparation, storage and service; basic business arithmetic; and basic inventory and record keeping principles and practices. Skill in overseeing and preparing meals in a large scale, institutional setting; overseeing and training others in basic cooking and work procedures; operating, cleaning and performing minor maintenance to large institutional food preparation and cooking equipment; maintaining accurate records and preparing work related reports; directing others in work procedures; and reading, understanding and following recipes and oral and written directions. Ability to interpret instructions and menus given by supervisor; know and understand how to clean and use kitchen equipment; observe inmates at work site; solve operational problems; remember cooking instructions; and explain work procedures to staff and inmate workers; supervise a kitchen facility utilizing inmate workers; and maintain intense concentration on activities going on around one’s location on a constant basis throughout the entire work shift. This is only a representative summary of the major duties and abilities for this position.

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff.   The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated.  The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting for a full-time level I or II (depending on qualifications and experience) Civil Engineer to provide technical assistance for Capital Improvement Program (CIP) delivery projects in the Public Works Department. CIP engineering tasks will be the primary focus of this position. However, to appropriately respond to community needs, the Engineer I/II may also provide support to the Land Development and Transportation engineering sections, so adaptability and flexibility are keys to success in this position.

In this exciting opportunity, you will be at the forefront of designing, planning, and overseeing various infrastructure projects that directly impact our community. The Engineer I/II will work under the direct supervision of a Senior Civil Engineer and will perform professional or sub professional engineering work in the field and office. Assignments will involve investigating, developing, and constructing a wide variety of public works facilities, and engineering projects that are geared towards transforming and modernizing the City of Gilroy.  This is in addition to representing the City in community meetings and hearings, meetings with project stakeholders, and on regional committees as applicable.

The Public Works Engineering Division is comprised of three engineering sections overseen by the City Engineer: Traffic/Transportation Engineering, Capital Improvement Program (CIP), and Land Development.  
Though the primary focus for this position is CIP, work assignments may vary and may include any of the following:
CIP: prepare plans, specifications and engineering estimates for Capital Improvement Projects, prepare requests for proposal/qualifications and contracts in conformance with the City's Purchasing Policy, oversee the City’s 5-Year Paving Program through the use of StreetSaver, manage consultant led projects and inspection teams, and assist the Senior Engineer with project budgeting and grant writing.
Traffic/Transportation: prepare plans, specifications, and engineering estimates for traffic and transportation related projects, prepare requests for proposal/qualifications and contracts in conformance with the City’s Purchasing Policy, manage various traffic and transportation projects and inspection teams, manage the City’s Sidewalk Replacement Program, work on various traffic studies, participate in regional transportation programs and initiatives, and assist the City Engineer with project budgeting and grant writing.
Land Development: assist in the review and processing of land development projects, plans for conformance to City standards and policies, storm water management plans with City consultants, preparation of City plan check comments, and construction material submittals. The Engineer will engage with developers and construction inspectors to track project review and approval schedules, and provide coordination with City master plan utility consultants.

EXAMPLES OF FIRST YEAR PROJECTS/ASSIGNMENTS:

• Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for public works capital improvement projects including roadways, trails, facilities-related projects.
• Annual pavement rehabilitation curb ramps, sidewalk replacement, and traffic calming projects. 
• Assist in administration of the bi-annual Public Works Department budget and Capital Improvement Program.
• Administer consultant contracts.
• Assist City Engineer and/or Senior Civil Engineer with high priority capital projects.

This position serves on a tree crew; prunes, sprays, feeds and fertilizes; stakes and otherwise cares for trees. This position climbs and prunes trees using rope and saddle and/or aerial lift equipment.
 
The City of Sunnyvale currently maintains a street tree inventory of over 38,000 street trees. The Maintenance Worker 2 – Tree Maintenance position is a fully trained/skilled tree climber position. The qualified candidate shall have at least six months experience similar to an ISA Certified Tree Worker Climber Specialist. This position serves on a tree crew, prunes, sprays, feeds, fertilizes, plants, stakes and otherwise cares for trees. This position climbs and trims trees using rope and saddle and/or aerial lift equipment. Successful candidates shall be required to demonstrate proficiency in tree climbing using standard arboricultural climbing equipment, i.e. rope and saddle, to pass probation of the Maintenance Worker 2 position.
