The Bay Area Air Quality Management District (Air District) is a regional government agency, committed to achieving clean air to protect the public's health and the environment. The Air District accomplishes this goal through regulation of industrial facilities and various outreach and incentive programs designed to encourage clean air choices.

The Air District is currently accepting applications for the position of Principal Air Quality Engineer in the Engineering Division. This is an open recruitment for one (1) vacancy which is a full-time, represented position.

About the Position
The AB617 Principal Engineer (AB617 Role) will join a high performing and motivated team of professionals who work in partnership with the communities most impacted by air pollution.  You will have the opportunity to contribute to the successful preparation and implementation of community-scale air quality plans in partnership with Air District staff, community members, partner organizations, local governments, the California Air Resources Board, and other state agencies.  With knowledge of the Air District’s permitting and risk reduction programs, you will lead the division’s participation in internal and external AB617 engagement, including communicating the role of the division; analyzing, reporting, and presenting information about stationary sources, emission inventories, permits, and risk reduction; participating in community meetings; proposing and guiding discussions on emission reduction strategies and development of plans and programs to implement environmental justice and civil rights.
 
The Principal Air Quality Engineer for the Engineering Division may perform the other complex and highly specialized air quality engineering work such as, but not limited to, processing permit applications for complex facilities; analyzing air emissions and other metadata; evaluating program effectiveness; and providing project leadership. The Principal Air Quality Engineers review, mentor staff, and provides training. The Principal Air Quality Engineer may also participate or lead complex, sensitive and controversial projects.  The incumbent in this position may provide technical presentations on complex and/or sensitive engineering activities to the Board of Directors, public, industry, or other agencies.  The Principal Air Quality Engineer will also represent the Air District while participating in working groups comprised of public, industry and other agencies. Researches, develops, and documents guidance for calculating emissions.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

Administrative Analyst I

The Administrative Analyst I is the entry-level class in the Administrative Analyst series that allows the incumbent to develop journey level knowledge and abilities. Initially, under immediate supervision, incumbents perform the more routine and less complex support assignments while learning City policies and procedures. As experience is gained, there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. This classification is alternatively staffed with Administrative Analyst II and incumbents may advance to the higher-level after gaining experience and demonstrating a level of proficiency that meets the qualifications of the higher-level class.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading written reports and work-related documents. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service. Additionally, the incumbent in this position may work in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The need to lift, drag and push files, paper and documents weighing up to 25 pounds also is required.

The GIS Specialist I/II is a data focused position that is responsible for creating, maintaining , and ensuring the integrity of enterprise GIS datasets in support of the Department of Planning, Building, and Code Enforcement (PBCE), as well as providing ongoing support for PBCE GIS projects and applications. ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting for a full-time level I or II (depending on qualifications and experience) Civil Engineer to provide technical assistance for Capital Improvement Program (CIP) delivery projects in the Public Works Department. CIP engineering tasks will be the primary focus of this position. However, to appropriately respond to community needs, the Engineer I/II may also provide support to the Land Development and Transportation engineering sections, so adaptability and flexibility are keys to success in this position.

In this exciting opportunity, you will be at the forefront of designing, planning, and overseeing various infrastructure projects that directly impact our community. The Engineer I/II will work under the direct supervision of a Senior Civil Engineer and will perform professional or sub professional engineering work in the field and office. Assignments will involve investigating, developing, and constructing a wide variety of public works facilities, and engineering projects that are geared towards transforming and modernizing the City of Gilroy.  This is in addition to representing the City in community meetings and hearings, meetings with project stakeholders, and on regional committees as applicable.

The Public Works Engineering Division is comprised of three engineering sections overseen by the City Engineer: Traffic/Transportation Engineering, Capital Improvement Program (CIP), and Land Development.  
Though the primary focus for this position is CIP, work assignments may vary and may include any of the following:
CIP: prepare plans, specifications and engineering estimates for Capital Improvement Projects, prepare requests for proposal/qualifications and contracts in conformance with the City's Purchasing Policy, oversee the City’s 5-Year Paving Program through the use of StreetSaver, manage consultant led projects and inspection teams, and assist the Senior Engineer with project budgeting and grant writing.

Engineering Technician-Inspector -Limited Term Duration - 06/30/2025

The Town of Moraga is a small, family-oriented bedroom community offering a quiet semi-rural lifestyle within easy reach of big city amenities. Located 22 miles east of San Francisco and 10 miles from Oakland, Moraga offers a unique blend of residential areas, two shopping centers and open hillsides. Moraga is also the home of Saint Mary’s College.

Under general supervision, the Engineering Technician/Construction Inspector position provides a variety of paraprofessional engineering and transportation support; performs a variety of technical and administrative duties relating to the maintenance, plan check, engineering design, development of PS&Es, construction bidding, contract management, construction management, construction quality assurance, inspection, surveying, and ordinance enforcement regarding public infrastructure and private land development under public works review; receives, investigates, and responds to complaints; maintains and updates engineering maps, drawings, records, and files; and performs related duties as required.

Distinguishing Characteristics: Incumbents will provide technical assistance and support to professional staff and construction inspection on encroachment permits, land development and construction projects. The Engineering Technician/Inspector class is distinguished from the Assistant Engineer by more routine tasks and duties received and by less independence with which to perform.

Equipment, Methods and Guidelines

Uses Federal, State, County, and local standard plans, specifications, rules and regulations; personal computer for word processing, spreadsheets, time card entry, and similar applications; motor vehicle, hand levels, pocket scales, engineering tapes, calculators, printer, copier, telephone, personal protective, hand tools, and engineering and survey equipment.

Working Conditions

Office and inspection site environment in all types of weather. Work may involve inconsistent work schedules to accommodate construction activities and may include work during weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Physical Demands

Work is often performed in an outdoor construction environment with year-round exposure to varying weather conditions. Work is subject to construction site noise and environment including exposure to loud equipment and machinery. Work will include exposure to various conditions encountered in a construction environment, such as steep slopes; various plants and natural environments; moving machinery; marked changes or extremes in temperature/humidity; dust, fumes, smoke, gases, odors, mists, or other irritating particles; excessive noise; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; working below ground and in confined spaces; vibrations; radiation or electrical energy; solvents, greases, oils, or chemicals; flames or burning items. Supervision Received and Exercised

Works under close supervision and follows established procedures; work is reviewed frequently by the Senior Civil Engineer, or designated personnel, for progress and accuracy. Independently applies applicable codes and ordinances to ensure conformance. Control over work methods is general, rather than detailed in nature; makes independent decisions when issuing permit authorizations, approving construction start dates, stopping or rejecting work, or issuing citations for violations. Work assignments, including written reports and communications, are reviewed upon completion but before submission or distribution.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Performs field, office, and computer-aided basic engineering studies and activities.
• Prepares plans, specifications, and cost estimates under direction of engineer.
• Conduct construction inspections for Capital Improvement Projects, encroachments in public right of way, public facilities improvements, stormwater facilities, and land development projects.

• Provides excellent customer service; responds to routine citizen inquiries and complaints relating to the Town’s infrastructure, including researching archival information from the Town’s files, seeking input from other departments as necessary, and communicating issues to appropriate supervisory or management staff for feedback or direction.
• Processes encroachment permits to ensure compliance with Town policy, codes, and regulations and fee, insurance, and bond requirements; coordinates and communicates with contractors, residents, other agencies, and other Town staff.
• Uses clearly defined practices and procedures to inspect the methods and materials used in encroachment permit work, construction projects, construction surveys, construction safety precautions, traffic control, and erosion and sediment control.
• Coordinates material testing and analyzes material test results including relative compaction tests, graduation of aggregates, slump tests, and resistant value of soils; Inspects producers of construction materials and its sources.
• Reviews and interprets construction plans, specifications, encroachment permits, and other documents affecting assigned projects; maintains daily diary and field records of construction activities, contractor crew, equipment, materials and quantities.
• Participates in meetings to discuss construction details and resolves issues with contractors, other departments, other agencies, and the public; identifies construction problems, monitors the corrections of project deficiencies, and recommends approval of necessary contract change orders and plan adjustments.
• Conducts compliance review of public’s maintenance responsibilities of sidewalk, curb, gutter, private storm drainage conveyance systems, and creeks; posts liens, required repairs, and construction notices.
• Can handle multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously; has handled a wide variety of assignments in past and/or current position.
• Assists in the administration of public works contracts including contract costs, materials verification, and compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Assists in preparing documentation related to obtaining and administering Federal and State grants.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

The County of San Mateo's Information Services Department seeks an IS Systems Specialist III to serve in the Security Division. Under general supervision, the individual in this position performs the most complex and varied technical tasks related to the configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and monitoring of the County's security infrastructure. This position serves as a technical leader and technical subject matter expert in specific security area(s) and is called upon to analyze existing and future computing environments and ensure that all solutions comply with County policy, frameworks and industry accepted best practices.

As an integral part of the Security team, the IS System Specialist III will be responsible for system administration across a variety of platforms and services such as: Firewalls (Palo Alto); Intrusion Detection and Prevention (Palo Alto Threat Prevention and Wildfire); Endpoint Protection Suite/XDR; Security Orchestration Platform (XSOAR); Cloud Security services; XDR SIEM monitoring and management; Vulnerability identification and mitigation/remediation.

The position also requires support in ancillary systems that support IAM/ARM platforms such as SolarWinds, Active Directory, OKTA. Additionally, this position will perform intrusion event investigative and reporting activities as required. Similarly, incumbents in this class must regularly analyze requests for new system implementations and ensure that strategies are applied that support best practice security design and integration with existing security infrastructure. Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in management information systems, computer science, or a related field and four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in supporting and implementing information technology infrastructure and/or server administration and specific to the specialty area assigned which includes data center management, IT facilities management, storage and backup, server management and server operating systems, and/or configuration management and event management. Additional related experience may substitute for education requirement on a year-for-year basis, up to four (4) years.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Criminal Records Supervisor.

The Position

Under direction of the Criminal Records Manager, the incumbent will supervise the maintenance of criminal records and related activities in the Sheriff's Records Bureau and provide difficult or specialized criminal records office support. There are four supervisors within the Records Bureau that oversee staff on: day shifts, swing shifts, night shifts, and at substations.

The approximate working hours for the graveyard shift are 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.; however, schedules in the Criminal Records Bureau are flexible and can be changed depending upon the needs of the Sheriff’s Office.

You will provide support to a 24/7 department that works around the clock, even on holidays. You will manage multiple requests with changing priorities to support essential functions of the office, sworn personnel, and the public. Our bureau processes and maintains a lot of records, files, documents, and data, and so time-management, organization, and attentiveness to details are some of the skills that will help you succeed in the position. In addition to this, professionalism and confidentiality are two characteristics that should be possessed by the ideal candidate, as this position requires supervising personnel in addition handling any issues with staff, and possible disciplinary actions.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:

Four years of responsible experience providing office support in a law enforcement and/or criminal records setting.

The total salary range includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate's qualifications and experience.

This is a class-based recruitment. Typical duties may include the following:

• Compiles and processes payments and/or requisitions for various financial transactions; assigns payments to cost centers.
• Prepares worksheets, financial charges and invoices, issues and maintains records.
• Summarizes data and prepares reports; prepares routine correspondence.
• Prepares and inputs data into computer terminals or applicable database.
• Operates and utilizes a variety of standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers, printers, scanners, phones, calculators, fax, software programs, and accounting machines and equipment.
• Generates or receives phone calls to and from internal and external customers to explain bills, obtain correct information for credit card payments and other related payment matters, including processing bills.
• Reviews, posts, and balances ledgers and other documents; processes and reviews revenues; reviews and balances petty cash and/or change funds.
• Prepares payroll and serves as department timekeeper.
• Prepares special checks.
• Conducts and maintains inventories of stores, equipment and supplies.
• May serve as lead worker as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as required.
