Qualifications:

THE POSITION:

The City of San Rafael Police Department is seeking a part-time/temporary Police Evidence and Property Technician.  General supervision is provided by the Police Civilian Supervisor.  Responsibilities include processing, storing, and controlling evidence and other property received or confiscated by the Police Department; classifies and compares fingerprints; maintains property and evidence files and records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but are not limited to the following):    

• Receives, logs, stores, and maintains property and evidence in accordance with Department procedures; transports evidence for forensic examination; maintains evidence rooms in an organized condition.
• Verifies inventories of evidence and property received and/or confiscated by Police Department.
• Reviews evidence and analysis forms for errors and omissions and assists with corrections.
• Determines purge dates for property and evidence; releases or disposes of property and evidence in accordance with applicable laws and court orders; prepares and sends letters to property owners for claim; releases property to rightful owner; prepares surplus and unclaimed property for disposal or auction.
• Prepares property and evidence for court trials; releases property to authorized persons; tracks chain of custody of evidence items; testifies in court regarding evidence chain of custody.
• Assists in determining evidence analysis requirements; provides training in proper evidence and packaging procedures.
• Evaluates suitability of latent fingerprints for automated system.
• Reviews and files photographic evidence.
• Responds to outside agency requests for evidence, status and chain of custody.
• Prepares a variety of property and evidence reports.
• Assists in other police service support work.
• Establishes and maintains inventory systems.
• Performs related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE OF/ABILITY TO: 

• Property and evidence storage, filing, retrieval and recordkeeping systems.

What You'll Do

The Dispatch Services Supervisor will plan, organize and supervise the operation of the Dispatch Services Unit in the Technical Services Division of the Police Department.  This position will also assist in the preparation and monitoring of the Unit’s budget, coordinate the Emergency Mobile Communications Van activities, and provide technical staff assistance to Department staff. ABOUT THE POSITION
The City of Gilroy is currently recruiting for a full-time level I or II (depending on qualifications and experience) Civil Engineer to provide technical assistance for Capital Improvement Program (CIP) delivery projects in the Public Works Department. CIP engineering tasks will be the primary focus of this position. However, to appropriately respond to community needs, the Engineer I/II may also provide support to the Land Development and Transportation engineering sections, so adaptability and flexibility are keys to success in this position.

In this exciting opportunity, you will be at the forefront of designing, planning, and overseeing various infrastructure projects that directly impact our community. The Engineer I/II will work under the direct supervision of a Senior Civil Engineer and will perform professional or sub professional engineering work in the field and office. Assignments will involve investigating, developing, and constructing a wide variety of public works facilities, and engineering projects that are geared towards transforming and modernizing the City of Gilroy.  This is in addition to representing the City in community meetings and hearings, meetings with project stakeholders, and on regional committees as applicable.

The Public Works Engineering Division is comprised of three engineering sections overseen by the City Engineer: Traffic/Transportation Engineering, Capital Improvement Program (CIP), and Land Development.  
Though the primary focus for this position is CIP, work assignments may vary and may include any of the following:
CIP: prepare plans, specifications and engineering estimates for Capital Improvement Projects, prepare requests for proposal/qualifications and contracts in conformance with the City's Purchasing Policy, oversee the City’s 5-Year Paving Program through the use of StreetSaver, manage consultant led projects and inspection teams, and assist the Senior Engineer with project budgeting and grant writing.

Engineering Technician-Inspector -Limited Term Duration - 06/30/2025

The Town of Moraga is a small, family-oriented bedroom community offering a quiet semi-rural lifestyle within easy reach of big city amenities. Located 22 miles east of San Francisco and 10 miles from Oakland, Moraga offers a unique blend of residential areas, two shopping centers and open hillsides. Under general supervision, the Engineering Technician/Construction Inspector position provides a variety of paraprofessional engineering and transportation support; performs a variety of technical and administrative duties relating to the maintenance, plan check, engineering design, development of PS&Es, construction bidding, contract management, construction management, construction quality assurance, inspection, surveying, and ordinance enforcement regarding public infrastructure and private land development under public works review; receives, investigates, and responds to complaints; maintains and updates engineering maps, drawings, records, and files; and performs related duties as required.

• Provides excellent customer service; responds to routine citizen inquiries and complaints relating to the Town’s infrastructure, including researching archival information from the Town’s files, seeking input from other departments as necessary, and communicating issues to appropriate supervisory or management staff for feedback or direction.
• Processes encroachment permits to ensure compliance with Town policy, codes, and regulations and fee, insurance, and bond requirements; coordinates and communicates with contractors, residents, other agencies, and other Town staff.
• Uses clearly defined practices and procedures to inspect the methods and materials used in encroachment permit work, construction projects, construction surveys, construction safety precautions, traffic control, and erosion and sediment control.
• Coordinates material testing and analyzes material test results including relative compaction tests, graduation of aggregates, slump tests, and resistant value of soils; Inspects producers of construction materials and its sources.
• Reviews and interprets construction plans, specifications, encroachment permits, and other documents affecting assigned projects; maintains daily diary and field records of construction activities, contractor crew, equipment, materials and quantities.
• Participates in meetings to discuss construction details and resolves issues with contractors, other departments, other agencies, and the public; identifies construction problems, monitors the corrections of project deficiencies, and recommends approval of necessary contract change orders and plan adjustments.
• Conducts compliance review of public’s maintenance responsibilities of sidewalk, curb, gutter, private storm drainage conveyance systems, and creeks; posts liens, required repairs, and construction notices.
• Can handle multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously; has handled a wide variety of assignments in past and/or current position.
• Assists in the administration of public works contracts including contract costs, materials verification, and compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Assists in preparing documentation related to obtaining and administering Federal and State grants.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Criminal Records Supervisor.

The Position

Under direction of the Criminal Records Manager, the incumbent will supervise the maintenance of criminal records and related activities in the Sheriff's Records Bureau and provide difficult or specialized criminal records office support. There are four supervisors within the Records Bureau that oversee staff on: day shifts, swing shifts, night shifts, and at substations.

There is currently one full-time Criminal Records Supervisor vacancy in the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. The individual selected for this position will be assigned to the graveyard/night shift. The approximate working hours for the graveyard shift are 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.; however, schedules in the Criminal Records Bureau are flexible and can be changed depending upon the needs of the Sheriff’s Office.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. Incumbents may be assigned to either County Jail security or Court security.

The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is responsible for the administration of the Yuba County Jail and Jail staff. The Mission of the Yuba County Jail is to provide safe, efficient, humane and secure custody of all persons incarcerated. The county prisoner population is made up of those who are sentenced to county jail, those serving state prison sentences in the county jail under AB109, and those who are pre-trial and who have not yet been sentenced. The jail provides a necessary link in the criminal justice system. There are numerous programs operating within the facility including medical, kitchen, exercise, commissary, visiting, law library, inmate education, work programs, work furlough program, and inmate classification.
