Salary Range: $17.37 to $23.15/hour, DOE

• This is a part-time temporary, non-benefitted position.

• Office procedures, methods, and equipment, including computers and applicable software applications.

Ability to:

• Work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays.

LICENSE(S) AND CERTIFICATION(S)

Possession of a valid California State Driver’s License, or license in another state with the ability to obtain a California license within 30 days of hire. The Yuba County Sheriff’s Department is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the classification of Correctional Officer.  Under continuing supervision incumbents perform a wide variety of support in two areas: corrections, in which incumbents ensure the security, safety and care of individuals in custody; and bailiff, in which incumbents ensure the safety and security of the courts and their personnel during court proceedings; and perform related work as assigned. The Department of Public Works is currently seeking to fill one ( 1 ) full-time Security Officer vacanc y in the Facilities Management Division. This is a temporary (Overstrength) position that is anticipated to be funded through December 31, 202 4 , subject to further extension as appropriate . This position is responsible for performing work focused on security services at City Hall and providing a safe and orderly environment for staff and the public. Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Providing service to customers, monitoring closed circuit video and access control systems in Security Operation Center (SOC).
• Escorting contractors to perform maintenance on security equipment.
• Monitoring and/or inspecting vehicles at the garage entrance.

Current shifts for this position are Monday through Friday, day and swing and shifts with added graveyard shifts on the weekends and/or holidays. Senior Programs:

The City of San Bruno Community Services Department is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to coordinate the planning, organizing, coordination, and administration of community recreation programs for age 50-plus adults under the supervision of a Recreation Services Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for professional recreation duties, encompassing the planning, organization, coordination, and supervision of programs at the San Bruno Senior Center. We are seeking candidates with substantial experience in recreation programs related to the aging community.

General Programming:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at the forthcoming state-of-the-art aquatic and recreation facility set to open in Summer 2024. The brand-new 49,360 sq ft facility will feature indoor and outdoor lap pools, a zero-entry wading pool, fitness amenities, a gymnasium, a walking track, and ample space for programming and rentals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for professional recreation duties, encompassing the planning, organization, coordination, and supervision of recreational programs at the facility.  Candidates with experience in fitness, aquatics, and general recreation programs are desired.

Responsibilities of the Recreation Services Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

• Managing and supervising assigned operations to achieve goals within available resources; planning and organizing workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff and volunteers; reviews progress and directs and implements changes as needed.
• Assuring that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget; performing cost control activities; monitoring revenues and expenditures in assigned area to assure sound fiscal control; preparing annual budget requests; assures effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time.
• Issuing written and oral instructions; assigning duties and examining work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
• Responding to public inquiries about recreation programs made by telephone, correspondence, or during public meetings.
• Preparing for publication a variety of brochures, calendars, letters, posters, news releases, flyers, and related communications regarding recreation programs.

Requirements

In addition to graduation from a four-year accredited college or university with major coursework in recreation, physical education, social work, gerontology, public administration or another closely related field of study – the candidate will also have two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in the development and coordination of programs, services, activities and events are required. Experience in recreation programs with the public is highly desirable.

Qualifications:

• Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in planning, public administration or a related field.
  • One year of work experience involving a high level of public contact including some experience working with the public in an enforcement, inspection, or customer service capacity. Experience that includes the enforcement of municipal codes is highly desirable. 
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain within one month of hire, an appropriate, valid driver’s license.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain within the probation period, a PC 832 certification
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain within the probation period, a California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) certificate.
