About the Engineering Group Manager - Facility
 
The Engineering Group Manager – Facility position reports to the Deputy Director for Transit and Facility Engineering, and manages a diverse, talented team of seasoned staff. This team is well-versed in the delivery of capital projects in the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority operation and maintenance responsibility. This position is responsible for directing and leading collaboration on master planning, design development (including technical analysis in support of preliminary engineering and final design), construction management and close out, overall program/project management (including scopes, costs, schedules and quality of work), management of staff resources (both VTA and consultant), and coordination with project stakeholders within VTA and the community.

In this role, you will serve as the City's technical expert in the traffic engineering field. You'll oversee administrative, technical, planning, and design work while ensuring contract compliance with specifications and engineering standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with major coursework in civil or traffic engineering and five years of increasingly responsible professional traffic engineering experience, three years of which were at a level equivalent to the Associate Transportation Engineer class.

Other requirements include:

• Possession of a valid California Registration as a professional Traffic Engineer or professional Civil Engineer. California Registration as a professional Traffic Engineer is preferred.
• Must be able to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet the program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, maintenance of a valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record is required.

Senior Transportation Planner (New Position)
Salary: $58.96-$75.83 (hourly plus excellent benefits)

The Town of Los Gatos is accepting applications for the newly created Senior Transportation Planner position in the Parks and Public Works Department. This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop a vital role within our organization.

The Senior Transportation Planner will focus on managing projects and programs that support sustainable transportation opportunities for the Town while addressing and improving mobility, safety, environmental, social, and economic conditions around transportation. The selected candidate will support the Town’s ongoing initiatives around transportation planning, including identifying grant programs and managing transportation planning related projects.  The Senior Transportation Planner will assist in the review of transportation studies and develop and implement policies related to Transportation Demand Management and Vehicle Miles Traveled in private developments.  They will manage parking programs and implement the Town’s Safe Routes to School Program. The Senior Transportation Planner will represent the Town on regional transportation committees and take the lead in identifying and securing local and competitive transportation funds.

• VTA process and procedures.

About the Department
The Parks and Public Works Department (PPW) is responsible for the maintenance and improvements of the Town's public parks, facilities, streets, and other infrastructure.  Our goal is to efficiently provide residents, businesses, and visitors with the highest quality service possible, with dedication and professionalism.  The Department has five service areas: Engineering, Capital Improvement, Streets and Signals, Parks, and Environmental Services. The Department also collaborates with all Town departments, and external partners and stakeholders.
 

• Engineering Services: The Engineering team provides services in the areas of encroachment permits and permitting and inspection of other work in the public right of way, including situations where new developments need to provide improvements in the right of way.  
   
• Capital Improvement: The Capital Improvement team develops and constructs capital projects across all Town assets, including improvements to roads, streetlights, parks, and Town buildings. See the annual capital budget for a list of current capital projects.
   
• Streets and Signals: The Streets and Signals team maintains the Town’s roadways, signs, and traffic signals. Traffic plays a big part in this team’s daily work as they seek to meet the needs of the community.  This includes traffic on major streets as well as on neighborhood streets where traffic calming can be a solution.
   
• Park Services: The Park Services team maintains the Town’s parks, trails, open spaces, facility grounds, median islands, parking lot landscaping, downtown planters, and the urban forest as well as administering park use fees and reservations.
   
• Environment Services: The Environmental Services team ensures that the Town is at the forefront of environmental stewardship. This team also manages the Town’s utilities, including the contract with West Valley Collection and Recycling for garbage service Town wide.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in transportation planning, city and regional planning, urban studies, civil engineering, or closely related field, and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in transportation development programs including two (2) years of project management.  A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university is desirable.
 
License and Certification:

• A California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment.
• Possession of a Certificate of Registration as Professional Transportation Planner or Professional Engineer in the State of California, or certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners is highly desirable.

The City of San José Information Technology Department (ITD) seeks a Cybersecurity Analyst (Enterprise Supervising Technology Analyst) to support new and existing initiatives in the Cybersecurity Office. The position will focus on Risk Mitigation as well as Identity & Access Management with exposure and support on all aspects of the Cybersecurity practice, including cross-support.

The ideal candidate will be part of one of the largest, most innovative communities in the nation. Led by the City Information Security Officer (CISO), the Cybersecurity Analyst will implement and manage information and system security programs across the City that keep municipal services secure and resilient. The Cybersecurity Analysts will support the CISO and the City by administering risk identification, protection and compliance, threat detection, incident response, and recovery services for all City departments to achieve business resilience.

• Working with relevant teams to ensure the restoration of systems and technologies in accordance with policy and based on business group needs.
• Interfacing with the Virtual Security Operations Center (V-SOC) and using deployed tools and services to ensure system and network monitoring is taking place in accordance with defined service levels, contracts, and established standards.
• This role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet the Security needs of the ITD. The individual must be able to support other areas of expertise within the security domain, such as but not limited to NIST Cybersecurity Framework implementation, Identity Access Management, Risk Management & Compliance, Risk Assessments, Training, Audit Support, and others.

Please note that the Cybersecurity Analyst (Enterprise Supervising Technology Analyst) position is currently eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. The schedule for working remotely and onsite is subject to change.

Salary Information: The final candidate's qualifications and experience shall determine the actual salary. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Enterprise Supervising Technology Analyst (ESTA) classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.

• Salary Range (including the 5% NPWI): $141,697.92 - $172,645.20

The ESTA classification is represented by the City Association of Management Personnel (CAMP) bargaining unit.

THE POSITION

The Maintenance Worker I performs semi-skilled and skilled labor in the construction, maintenance, repair, and related service activities related to streets, sidewalk, park, grounds, irrigation, and/or turf and may be assigned to either the Streets & Fleet or Parks Maintenance Divisions. The current opening is in the Park Maintenance Division.

Typical duties in the Parks Division may include but are not limited to: Maintains turf, trees, shrubs, groundcover, top dressings, irrigation systems, playground equipment, park furnishings, restrooms, and sport field equipment; Operates and understands basic maintenance procedures for various power turf equipment, including but not limited to mowers of various sizes, edgers, blowers, chainsaws, and related equipment as required; Performs a wide variety of skilled tasks involving the use of power equipment and hand tools in the areas of park and grounds maintenance, irrigation system installation, programming, and maintenance, and tree/shrub trimming maintenance; Performs installation, maintenance and repair of various parks and grounds improvements and planting and trimming of trees/shrubs; Performs fertilizer and herbicide application related to turf and ornamental plant care; and performs other related duties as assigned.

The normal work schedule will be a 9/80 work schedule (9-hour days Monday-Thursday, 8-hour Friday with every other Friday off) from 6:00 am-3:30 pm. About the Position:  The Facilities Maintenance Specialist performs all aspects of facilities maintenance for the Administrative Office Facilities, including building operation, vehicle fleet maintenance, landscaped grounds and parking areas, and various physical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, painting, assembly, construction, electrical, data cabling, and security systems.  This position is also responsible for non-routine repairs and improvements at Midpen Field properties as well as performing preventative maintenance tasks, repairs, and minor improvement projects. The Facilities Maintenance Specialist will support Midpen’s utilization of contractors and act as a point of contact for a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks. The successful performance of this work will require a working knowledge of a broad range of facility maintenance trades and technical principles, as well as a professional background and the ability to coordinate work with other Midpen departments. Positions in this classification must possess the ability to lift and carry materials and objects weighing up to 60 pounds and must possess the ability to push and pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds, with the use of proper equipment. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.

The Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) Division of San Mateo County Health is seeking a Clinical Services Manager I/II- Adult Licensed Facilities and Utilization Management to plan, coordinate, implement and oversee comprehensive countywide mental health programs, including a county-operated utilization management program for contracted mental health facilities (e.g. inpatient psychiatric programs, locked skilled nursing facilities, mental health rehabilitation centers, residential social rehabilitation and treatment facilities, and licensed board and cares). This individual will also recommend, develop, implement and evaluate goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to contracted mental health facility services; oversee utilization management and service authorization of licensed facility services for individual consumers; oversee county-operated mental health services to support clients in out-of-county facilities; provide leadership and coordinate with community groups, public and private agencies, mental health consumers and family members, and volunteers in planning and implementing programs; maintain an effective working relationship with a variety of public and private organizations, including other County departments and agencies, advocacy groups, and client organizations; consult with other managers on relevant program issues; develop alternative strategies for dealing with community mental health needs and assist in the implementation of solutions as necessary; contribute to Request for Proposal development, participate in selection and monitoring oversight of contracted service providers; prepare, administer and monitor the program budget to ensure the accomplishment of program and service objectives within budget restrictions; conduct targeted focus groups with clients, family members, service providers, and other relevant community stakeholders at least annually to obtain feedback/input on needs/concerns/gaps in assigned program and service areas; provide highly complex staff support to senior level management, related commissions and advisory boards on program issues within assigned area of specialization; and select, supervise, train and evaluate clinical, professional, technical and clerical subordinates.

Licensure/Certification :

Administrative Analyst I

As experience is gained, there is greater independence of action within established guidelines. PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading written reports and work-related documents. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service. Additionally, the incumbent in this position may work in all weather conditions including wet, hot and cold. The GIS Specialist I/II is a data focused position that is responsible for creating, maintaining , and ensuring the integrity of enterprise GIS datasets in support of the Department of Planning, Building, and Code Enforcement (PBCE), as well as providing ongoing support for PBCE GIS projects and applications. The position requires a commitment to building and maintaining quality GIS data, strong cartographic design skills, good attention to detail and customer service , and proficiency with ArcGIS software .

Under the direction of a senior team member, the GIS Specialist I/II will maintain GIS datasets and interface with planners to identify and address mapping and geospatial analysis needs . Key responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Produce, analyze , and present geographic information utilizing ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Portal, and/or related software.
• Create and maintain enterprise GIS datasets using standard spatial editing tools and versioning. Interpret resources such as assessor's maps, discrepancy reports, Council-approved ordinances and resolutions, memorandums, and third-party data sources to enter graphic and attribute data into GIS while maintaining data integrity.

• Perform quality assurance checks on GIS data.
