The Position
Under general supervision, the Police Community Services Officer College Intern performs a variety of non-sworn work in the field and administrative duties, including but not limited to:
 

• Assist with traffic control at special events and parking enforcement. 
• Document and prepare reports of minor criminal related incidents and traffic collisions.
• Assist various bureaus within the Police Department. 

Other assignement and duties will be determine based on qualifications and operational needs. Police Community Services Officer college interns are required to wear a Department-issued uniform and work shifts as assigned, including weekends and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications

• Maintain a minimum of nine (9) semester college units or twelve (12) quarter units during employment

The Dixon Police Department is opening positions for a Police Recruit to attend the Police Academy. The “Police Recruit” classification at the City of Dixon Police Department provides a unique opportunity for candidates to be sponsored through a P.O.S.T. certified basic academy during regular academy hours and any other scheduled departmental and academy exercise and activities.  Upon successfully completing the academy, Police Recruits shall be advanced to Police Officers and immediately begin the field training program to prepare them to function as solo officers.

Under the direct supervision of the IT Director, the IT Support Technician II performs more advanced support for the help desk, applications, and technical support for the Peninsula Library System libraries. The City of San José is hiring an Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services (PBCS) Technical Lead (Enterprise Supervising Technology Analyst) to provide technical support for Oracle PBCS which is used to prepare the City's Capital, Operating, and Revenue Budgets. The PBCS Technical Lead will also support the three custom budget applications: Fees and Charges, Ordinance Tracking, and Budget to Finance ERP Interface and the Budget Office (BO). The BO is responsible for developing and managing the City's operating and capital budgets and service fees and charges. This position requires strong technical hands-on experience and leadership skills, as well as the ability to take initiative and lead others. We are seeking an individual who is willing to adapt to an ever-changing environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical and functional background supporting Oracle PBCS and/or Oracle Hyperion Planning, and multi-dimensional databases with strong analytical skills. In addition, development experience using .NET Framework, Java, or JavaScript to effectively manage and support custom-developed applications is essential. Expertise should cover the entire system implementation lifecycle including gathering business requirements, creating functional and technical designs, application development, and administration.

Salary Information:The final candidate's qualifications and experience shall determine the actual salary. In addition to the starting salary, employees in the Enterprise Technology Manager (ETM) classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.

• Salary Range (including the 5% NPWI): $163,275.84 - $199,814.16

The ETM classification is represented by the City Association of Management Personnel (CAMP) bargaining unit.

What Is the june 2025 Academy?

The June 2025 Academy is a rigorous Police training program designed to prepare individuals for a rewarding career in law enforcement. No prior experience or training is required. However, applicants must meet ALL of the minimum qualifications below:

• At least 20-1/2 years old at the time of application / Maximum age is 70 years old (mandatory retirement age)
• Legally authorized to work in the United States under Federal Law
• Possession of a valid driver's license authorizing operation of a motor vehicle in the U.S.
• U.S. high school diploma or other state approved high school diploma equivalency exam; waived if you earned a degree from an accredited college within the U.S.
• *MUST POSSESS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION* Forty (40) semester or sixty (60) quarter credits from a U.S. accredited college or university. Police academy credits already earned are accepted as part of the education requirement. (Military Veterans with an honorable discharge can substitute four (4) years of active duty service in the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines or Coast Guard in lieu of the minimum college credit requirement)

• California P.O.S.T. Physical Agility Test (WSTB). Pass or Fail. The WSTB includes a 99-yard obstacle course, 32-foot body drag (165 lbs.), six-foot chain-link fence climb with 25 yard sprint, and 500-yard run. Also included in the Physical Agility Test is a 1 mile run, which must be completed in 12 minutes or less. Results valid for one year. STEP #4: ORAL BOARD INTERVIEW

• This is a panel interview. Candidates will be asked five to eight questions. Pass Point is 70% or higher. Results are valid for three years.
• If you are out of state or military, we can conduct your interview via ZOOM but you will still need to come out here to take the physical agility test.

STEP #5: BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION PROCESS

• Eligible candidates will complete a Personal History Statement (PHS) packet. Background investigators will then be assigned to assist candidates through the process. Upon successful completion and review of the background investigation, the hiring board will make their employment selections. Those selected will receive a conditional offer of employment, contingent upon successfully passing a medical and psychological exam.

STEP #6: THE SAN JOSE POLICE ACADEMY

• Police Recruits are considered a City of San Jose employee while attending the Academy, which is a 26-week program. Recruits are paid the current contract hourly rate while in the Academy. Upon graduation, you will enter the Field Training Program (FTO) for additional training as a SJPD officer on the street.
