The Department

The Human Services Department (HSD) delivers and supports services by forging long-term community partnerships, engaging with and building the capacity of the community to do its own problem-solving, and leveraging financial and volunteer resources. The Department’s nationally and internationally recognized programs support thousands of residents throughout their life course, from infants to elders. The Administration Division of HSD specifically supports a robust grants program that administers federal and local funding that addresses the needs of lower income Fremont residents. The Department receives approximately $2.2 million in annual federal funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and an additional $800,000 in local funding to administer to non-profit and community agencies that provide vital services to Fremont’s most vulnerable residents.

The Position

The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for a variety of advanced level fiscal clerical assignments. This position provides administrative support of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Programs (HOME) programs related to affordable housing and services to low income residents.

Examples of Job Duties

• Prepare and execute contracts for CDBG, ESG, HOME, and SSG Grant Programs.
• Provide contract administration/clerical support, which includes keeping and maintaining detailed records and information required by federal grant programs.
• Prepare and execute purchases orders, process invoices, and keep grant accounting records.
• Provide support of the CDBG Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) meetings and provide assistance through the coordination of the meeting schedule, preparation of meeting agendas, summary notes of meetings, and other materials (requires evening attendance).
• Assist in the Request for Proposal (RFP) Process for all grant programs and provide assistance in operating Zoom Grants for the intake, review, and final scoring of grant proposal applications.
• Provide customer service assistance to subgrantee agencies for a variety of contract administration needs.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain records needed to help programs meet audit requirements.
• Process CDBG Rehabilitation loan payoff and subordination requests. Research and analyze loan agreement regulations on a case-by-case basis.

Behavioral Health Clinician I:
Behavioral Health Clinicians at this level provide a variety of community behavioral health services to clients and to the community in an outpatient setting. Responsibilities include conducting assessments; performing case coordination, care management, and rehabilitative services; providing diagnosis and treatment plans; providing psychotherapy; providing linkage to resources and support to maintain resources; and preparing reports, case summaries, and other required forms.

Behavioral Health Clinician II:
At this level, Behavioral Health Clinicians handle more complex or difficult client cases. In addition to the responsibilities of a Behavioral Health Clinician I, incumbents at this level may lead teams conducting intake assessments and crisis intervention. 

Required Qualifications

Both positions require a master's degree from a recognized school of Social Work, Counseling, Psychiatric Nursing, or other Marriage and Family Therapy eligible discipline, or a doctorate degree in Psychology. 

Behavioral Health Clinician I:

Field placement of at least one (1) year in a medical, psychiatric, or community mental health setting

AND

Registration as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), and/or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) with the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) OR a Registered Psychologist with the Board of Psychology. 

Behavioral Health Clinician II: 

Two (2) years of experience in an out-patient clinic, hospital, child guidance clinic, mental health program, or family agency which included regular psychiatric consultation

San Mateo County Health - San Mateo Medical Center and its outpatient clinics are seeking experienced Certified Medical Assistants - Spanish Speaking Preferred to join our care teams. The current vacancies are Regular vacancies and Extra Help vacancies. Future vacancies may include extra-help, limited term, unclassified, and regular classified positions.

Extra Help - Extra-help positions are short-term employment for up to 1040 hours which is equivalent to about six months; however, employment might end sooner depending on the needs of the hiring departments. Extra-help assignments are at-will and the employee is paid on an hourly basis. Some extra help positions are eligible for benefits under the Affordable Care Act. Extra-help workers are not guaranteed permanent status at the end of the extra-help assignment.

Term - Term positions are designated for a specific and limited period of time, anywhere from 6 months to a maximum of 3 years depending on the assignment. Benefits package for term positions are similar to regular positions EXCEPT for retirement. Term employees receive a 401A retirement package and are not eligible for retiree health benefits or a defined benefit pension.

Unclassified - Unclassified positions are at-will for a limited duration, typically associated with grant or other special funding. These positions are not covered by San Mateo County Civil Service Rules; and there is no formal probation period. The following are the same for classified and unclassified positions: salary, increases and other forms of compensation; accrual of sick leave, vacation, overtime, holiday and leaves of absence; health, dental, vision, long & short term disability, and retirement.

Medical Services Assistants II who are assigned to the clinics and perform advanced patient care duties as defined in the classification specification shall receive a differential of 6.2% in addition to all other compensation.
 

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Accurately take and record the condition, respiration, pulse, temperature and blood pressure of patients; record other pertinent information as observed or measured.
• Apply non-sterile dressings and administer non-medicated treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse, licensed physician, surgeon, podiatrist, nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
• Carry out rehabilitation procedures as directed by therapists; perform a range of motion body movement with/for patients; position and exercise patients.
• Assist in therapeutic milieu programs.

• Perform injections including immunizations.

Qualifications

Certification Requirement:
Possession of a Medical Assistant Certificate or a certificate of completion or degree from an accredited medical assisting program is required. A certificate of completion of an approved medical assisting program must be submitted at the time of application.

Bilingual Fluency:
Some positions may require bilingual skills. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to be considered for a bilingual position.

Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to qualify is:

One year of experience in an outpatient clinic or doctor's office as a nurse's assistant or medical assistant.

The Town of Moraga is seeking a dynamic Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Town Manager.  Under general supervision, the Administrative Assistant performs a wide variety of routine to complex office, administrative and technical support tasks requiring the ability to apply specialized functions or services in order to support an assigned department; assists the public personally or directing by providing information to requests according to established procedures; sorts, logs and maintains records and other documents; follows policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; and performs related duties as required in a manner that is responsive, cost effective, and innovative. 

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

The Administrative Assistant is the journey level in the Administrative Assistant series, in which employees are assigned the full scope of duties in an assigned department with only occasional instruction or assistance as unusual or unique situations arise. Incumbents perform a full range of administrative support duties, including organizing and coordinating workload; preparing reports; coordinating and assisting with the development of technical documents; and explaining Town ordinances, all requiring considerable department/program knowledge. This classification is distinguished from the next higher classification of Senior Administrative Assistant in that the latter performs the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within the series.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs a wide variety of routine to complex office and administrative tasks and duties in support of a department director and department activities, including organizing and coordinating work; sets priorities and meets deadlines.
• Maintains liaison between the Town Manager and department staff, other Town staff, officials and staff of other agencies to obtain and relay information and coordinate activities.

The City of San Jose, Animal Care and Services Division is seeking two (2) full-time Animal Shelter Veterinarians and multiple part-time Animal Shelter Veterinarians to work at the Animal Care Center. The Animal Shelter Veterinarian may perform all aspects of shelter medicine in a large animal shelter. Duties may include routine spay/neuter surgeries on cats, dogs, and other animals as indicated. This position provides direct care and treatment of homeless animals entering the City of San Jose’s Animal Care Center.

In addition, this position is required to diagnose, treat, and/or recommend euthanasia. Registered Veterinary Technicians will be assigned to assist this position with the preparation and post-surgery processes of spay/neuter and other surgical procedures. 

The full-time benefited position and part-time unbenefited positions will be reporting to the Medical Services Director (Division Manager) of Animal Care and Services. This classification is represented by City Association of Management Personnel (CAMP).

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Directs, coordinates and performs the screening, diagnosis, and basic and emergency medical treatment of animals in the shelter.
• Performs or supervises the visual monitoring of impounded animals, including those that may be isolated or quarantined for signs of illness or unusual behavior.

Experience: Equivalent to at least four (4) years of increasingly responsible Analyst level experience in a Human Resources Department. Experience in a supervisory or lead capacity is desired. Additional education, such as a graduate degree in one of the above disciplines from an accredited college or university may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Desirable Experience: Experience in high level complex, high volume recruitments, and compensation analysis. Excellent communication skills and presentation skills, ability to develop strong rapport with hiring managers and provide outstanding customer service to internal and external clients. This position requires the incumbent to occasionally travel to District facilities, with the flexibility to work early mornings, late afternoons/evenings, and or on the weekends as needed for events at various District locations and in the community. The Alameda Contra Costa Transit District has established the goal of a 100 percent drug and alcohol-free workplace. What You’ll Do

• Receive on-the-job training, learn, and perform work in the following police records functions:
• Meet and assist the public at the Police Department reception counter and provide information according to City policy and Government Code requirements.
• Answer non-emergency heavy volume, incoming telephone calls.
• Operate machines and technology including but not limited to a computer, facsimile, copier/scanner/printer, calculator, desk-top computer, and a telecommunication terminal accessing County, State and National law enforcement automated information systems.
• Type, process, scan, and file a wide variety of police reports, warrants, subpoenas, citations, registrant files and court ordered record sealings utilizing various types of technology.
• Verify computer entries, process validations and assist with state and federal audits.
• Maintain logs for state and federal computer entries and updates.
• Retrieve and review daily crime reports for accuracy prior to submission to the District Attorney.
• Operate and organize a Department Records Management System to retrieve information such as searches for names, incidents, reports, and calls for service.
• Disseminate records information to department staff, outside law enforcement agencies, the public and other employees according to established laws and guidelines.
• Keep current on continuous changes and additions in report release requirements.
• Handle citizen complaints at the reception counter and on the telephone.
• Assist in training new and other assigned personnel.
• Perform record checks for authorized agencies in strict accordance with the law.
• Process vehicle release forms and collect fees.
• Process mail and order supplies.
• Purge department and citywide files as required.
• Assist in developing procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

If assigned to the Property Unit, duties may include but not limited to:

• Receive and maintain the chain of custody and integrity of, and safely store evidence, found property, and property held for safekeeping.
• Advise staff on proper packaging and submission procedures.
• Conduct inventories and audits of property and evidence.
• Release property to the public or the legally authorized persons in accordance with disposition forms, court orders, or stipulations.
• Check out items needed for court, investigations, and forensic testing; share evidence needed for investigation or review; transport items to and from laboratory and maintain strict records of chain of custody.
• Testify in court to verify chain of custody records of evidence.
• Make arrangements for auction of unclaimed property.
