San Mateo County Health is excited to be able to offer a full-time, benefited, unique job opportunity to well-qualified individuals for the position of Supervising Nurse Practitioner (Supervising NP) Forensic Medical Unit, as part of San Mateo Medical Center's Keller Center.

The Keller Center for Family Violence Intervention is a unique outpatient medical unit affiliated with San Mateo Medical Center Emergency Department. We perform forensic medical exams on victims of assault and abuse and work in a collaborative multidisciplinary team that includes law enforcement, the District Attorney’s office, Child Protective Services, Aging and Adult Services, and several community agencies. We also provide education and serve as a resource for other community hospitals and clinics.

The Supervising Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with the Medical Director of Specialty Services and Deputy Director of Ambulatory Nursing in planning, organizing and directing the activities and staff of the Keller Center along with developing standards of practice for forensic exams and reporting. This classification is distinguished from the Nurse Practitioner Series for having full administrative supervisory responsibility over other Nurse Practitioners. The selected individual will spend up to 30% of time in direct patient care at SMMC, which includes performing forensic medical exams for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, elder abuse and child abuse. Testifying in court will be part of the job responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

• At least two years of forensic examination training and experience
• Trauma Informed Care training and experience
• Experience bringing diverse viewpoints and stakeholders together successfully to accomplish goals and commands the trust and respect of others

The Behavioral Health and Recovery Services (BHRS) Division of San Mateo County Health is seeking a Clinical Services Manager I/II- Adult Licensed Facilities and Utilization Management to plan, coordinate, implement and oversee comprehensive countywide mental health programs, including a county-operated utilization management program for contracted mental health facilities (e.g. inpatient psychiatric programs, locked skilled nursing facilities, mental health rehabilitation centers, residential social rehabilitation and treatment facilities, and licensed board and cares). Program services include service authorizations, assessments, treatment and discharge planning, case management, medication management, mental health treatment and therapy, crisis intervention and stabilization services, care coordination, support groups, and related residential, rehabilitation, wellness and recovery services for adults and older adults with serious mental illness within an adult specialty mental health system of care.

This individual will also recommend, develop, implement and evaluate goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to contracted mental health facility services; oversee utilization management and service authorization of licensed facility services for individual consumers; oversee county-operated mental health services to support clients in out-of-county facilities; provide leadership and coordinate with community groups, public and private agencies, mental health consumers and family members, and volunteers in planning and implementing programs; maintain an effective working relationship with a variety of public and private organizations, including other County departments and agencies, advocacy groups, and client organizations; consult with other managers on relevant program issues; develop alternative strategies for dealing with community mental health needs and assist in the implementation of solutions as necessary; contribute to Request for Proposal development, participate in selection and monitoring oversight of contracted service providers; prepare, administer and monitor the program budget to ensure the accomplishment of program and service objectives within budget restrictions; conduct targeted focus groups with clients, family members, service providers, and other relevant community stakeholders at least annually to obtain feedback/input on needs/concerns/gaps in assigned program and service areas; provide highly complex staff support to senior level management, related commissions and advisory boards on program issues within assigned area of specialization; and select, supervise, train and evaluate clinical, professional, technical and clerical subordinates.

The Community Service Officer performs a variety of routine to complex field and administrative activities in support of police services and programs for the City’s Police Department. The County of San Mateo's Information Services Department seeks an IS Systems Specialist III to serve in the Security Division. Under general supervision, the individual in this position performs the most complex and varied technical tasks related to the configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and monitoring of the County's security infrastructure. This position serves as a technical leader and technical subject matter expert in specific security area(s) and is called upon to analyze existing and future computing environments and ensure that all solutions comply with County policy, frameworks and industry accepted best practices.

The Position

Under direction of the Criminal Records Manager, the incumbent will supervise the maintenance of criminal records and related activities in the Sheriff's Records Bureau and provide difficult or specialized criminal records office support. There are four supervisors within the Records Bureau that oversee staff on: day shifts, swing shifts, night shifts, and at substations.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Work with department representatives to define and revise system requirements. Manage selection and implementation projects related to new systems purchases. Manage and administer software applications to address functionality, security, and performance requirements. Manage support and maintenance issues and tasks with system vendors, coordinating and communicating with users. Knowledge of: Microsoft Windows server-side operating system and application software, including SQL server, database scripting tools and reporting applications, including Crystal Reports and SSRS; basic understanding of IIS; client-server relationships, including basic TCP/IP skills, web- based connectivity, and current language/application design standards, including .Net; Microsoft client software including current operating systems and Office application suites; project management methods and techniques; general IT principles and practices.

The City of San Bruno Community Services Department is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to coordinate the planning, organizing, coordination, and administration of community recreation programs for age 50-plus adults under the supervision of a Recreation Services Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for professional recreation duties, encompassing the planning, organization, coordination, and supervision of programs at the San Bruno Senior Center. We are seeking candidates with substantial experience in recreation programs related to the aging community.

General Programming:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at the forthcoming state-of-the-art aquatic and recreation facility set to open in Summer 2024. The brand-new 49,360 sq ft facility will feature indoor and outdoor lap pools, a zero-entry wading pool, fitness amenities, a gymnasium, a walking track, and ample space for programming and rentals.

Requirements

Experience in recreation programs with the public is highly desirable.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
 
* This is a part-time/temporary/seasonal position with the City of San Bruno. As such, employees agree to serve in an at-will capacity and understand that service with the City may be terminated at any time. This position works a maximum of 17 hours per week and does not provide any benefits, except for paid sick leave. In accordance with the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014, all temporary, part-time, and seasonal employees, who on or after July 1, 2015, work in California for 30 or more days within a year from the commencement of employment are entitled to paid sick leave for prescribed purposes. Employees will accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked and are entitled to use accrued sick days beginning on the 90th day of employment. Employees may use up to 40 hours (or 5 days) of accrued sick leave in each year of employment.

This hourly, at-will, part-time (non-benefited) position offers paid work experience, flexible part-time schedule, and on-the-job training and support. Recreation Specialists provide a variety of hands-on support activities to an assigned program or division. Recreation Specialists are expected to:

• Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times
• Provide hands-on operational support in City recreation centers, sports facilities, afterschool and summer camp programs, and/or nutrition and food service programs
• Set up, arrange, and take-down furniture and equipment for classes, rentals, meetings, and special events
• Effectively use, learn and perform tasks on recreation software systems 
• Monitor the proper and safe use of City facilities by the general public and ensure adherence to rules and policies
• Ensure the cleanliness and safety of facilities throughout the day
• Demonstrate proficiency with word processing, data entry and organization

Depending on the specific work assignment, Recreation Specialists also are responsible for:

• Handling money and electronic transactions
• Organizing class sign in sheets
• Monitoring, organizing, and running community programs
• Basketball, volleyball and softball scorekeeping
• Leading children in organized afterschool and summer camp programs and activities
• Food preparation and food service in City nutrition programs.
