Under general direction, the Workers' Compensation Manager will collaborate with all County employees, their managers, health care providers, the third-party claims administrator, and contractors, as well as the County Attorney's Office and other Human Resources staff to ensure fair, consistent, and timely handling of workers' compensation claims.

In addition, the Workers' Compensation Manager will research, investigate, and analyze workers' compensation and disability claims. The Workers' Compensation Manager will also review, improve, and develop policy and procedures, case summaries, statistical and narrative reports, and training manuals and will serve as the liaison to employees, their managers, and the third-party claims administrator on matters pertaining to workers' compensation, temporary work arrangements, return to work, interactive processes, agreements, and other matters related to industrial injuries and related disabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is at least two years of experience (five years preferred) managing workers’ compensation claims including evaluation of injuries, coordination of benefits, placement of employees in alternate employment, and fraud management.

The CPA will analyze available data and work with City departments to identify service priorities, partnerships, and opportunities related to support for educational and employment attainment of community members in the Santee neighborhood.

This position will:

• Develop strategies to monitor and evaluate programs and services in alignment with adopted quality standards and ensure that all programs at Seven Trees are executed against those standards.
• Identify gaps in service and programs and develop a strategic plan to address issues.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have current knowledge of the CYSMP, collaboration models, data collection, and analysis methodology as well as the ability to lead development of enhanced service models.
• Be a self-starter who takes initiative yet seek approvals and keep leadership informed as appropriate

THE POSITION

This position performs various para-professional services for the Glenn County Community Action Department. The Department

The Community Services Department strives to improve the health, wellness and quality of life for Fremont residents by offering a wide variety of exceptional educational and recreational programs and services, historic and cultural resources, facilities, unique attractions, special events, park use and urban forestry.

The Position

The Deputy Director oversees the Recreation Division including the Park Rangers, and management of all recreation programs and activities; other department divisions or sections may be assigned.  The incumbent assists in departmental policy development, administrative and budgetary planning, and problem solving for the Community Services Department, and acts as Director in their absence; performs related duties as required.
