Lifeguards patrol and watch the activities in and around the community swimming pool, enforce regulations to prevent accidents, and rescue swimmers in distress. Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of Recreation and Community Engagement, the Pool Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and administration of the aquatic facility. Responsibilities include but are not limited to enforcing policies and procedures which ensure the efficient and effective operation of pool facilities, including personnel management and training. Duties involve all swimming pool operations, including first aid, rotations, scheduling for Staff, public relations, and light janitorial duties.

Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor and Senior Lifeguard/Swim Instructor, Lifeguard/Swim Instructor performs a variety of duties to ensure the City of Dixon swimming pool is a safe and enjoyable aquatic facility. Supervises pool patrons, enforces pool rules, performs first aid and emergency rescues, instructs swim lessons, performs cashiering duties, leads recreational activities; performs related and other work as required.
