Recreation Coordinators are hands-on team leaders responsible for a wide range of programming, operational, and administrative duties, including: program implementation, facility operations, customer service, systems management, marketing and promotion, and special projects as needed and assigned. About the Department 

The Library and Community Services department is responsible for providing excellent customer service through recreational, educational, and cultural programs for children, adults and seniors. Our facilities include 221 acres of parkland distributed among 13 parks, two libraries, two community centers, two public pools, three childcare centers, two gymnasiums, and one gymnastics center. Included in the parks and recreation areas are tennis and pickleball courts, dog parks, softball diamonds, picnic areas, playgrounds, soccer fields, a skate park, shared use of a performing arts center and open space.  The City of Menlo Park opened a state-of-the-art new facility that incorporates a community center, gymnasium, aquatics center, senior center, youth center, and branch library in May 2024.

Village Park Preschool is a play-based preschool program offered by the City of Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department. Definition: Preschool Site Coordinator

The City of Burlingame is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, creative, and responsible Preschool Site Coordinator. Under direction of a Recreation Supervisor, the Preschool Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Village Park Preschool ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This role involves managing staff, coordinating programs, communicating with parents, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties

• Program Oversite
  • Coordinate with teachers and staff to ensure lesson plans, schedules, and classroom activities align with educational standards and goals.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as needed to meet the needs of children and families.

The Assistant Civil Engineer is an entry-level class in the Civil Engineer series. This class is distinguished from the Associate Civil Engineer by the performance of the more routine tasks and duties assigned to positions within the Civil Engineer series. Incumbents perform less complex office and field engineering work and assignments are generally routine or closely related within a framework of established procedures. Since this class is typically used as a training class, employees may have applicable education but only limited related work experience. The Assistant Civil Engineer receives general supervision from higher level professional engineers and may exercise technical or functional supervision over technical engineering staff. The Assistant Civil Engineer position does not require registration as a civil engineer or professional engineer. 

The Associate Civil Engineer performs a variety of complex engineering work for design, investigation, and management of public works projects and oversight of private development and permitted construction, prepares a variety of engineering documents, drawings and specifications, to act as project manager in assigned capital projects; and to perform a variety of professional public works and engineering tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.  

This is the full journey level class within the professional Civil Engineer series. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Assistant Civil Engineer by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, including by the greater complexity of the assignments received and by the greater independence with which an incumbent is expected to operate. Incumbents are expected to complete complex engineering assignments requiring the use of judgment and initiative in developing solutions to problems, interpreting general policies, and determining work assignments. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Description

The Town of Colma Recreation Services Department is currently accepting applications for Recreation Leaders for Summer 2024.  The Recreation Department provides programs and activities for Colma residents of all ages ranging from infants to seniors. In conjunction with the Two-County (San Mateo and Santa Clara) Regional Internship Program, the City of South San Francisco offers paid summer internship opportunities for current undergraduate and graduate college students who are interested in contributing to the community. An internship with the City of South San Francisco offers valuable, real-world job experience in a local government setting. Through this internship, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of programs and services, while enhancing and sharpening your writing, presentation, research, analysis, and critical thinking skills. As part of the Two-County Regional Internship Program, this experience will also be supplemented with learning forums and access to professionals in your interested field.

These paid positions are part-time and do not include benefits. The intern position is a temporary assignment for summer 2024. These positions include flexible scheduling and College/University credit may be provided, as applicable. Interns receive direction and guidance from a supervisor who is traditionally part of the management staff.

Project Description

Intern will work with fleet management staff to populate fleet management software with data and create custom reports with data. Intern will also be involved in integration and migration of data from other platforms such as fueling logs.

Project Outcomes

This project will aid in streamlining fleet operations, inform future policy and purchases, and improve data retention. Intern will learn to plan and complete a multi-faceted project requiring cross departmental collaboration.

THE POSITION:

The ideal candidate for Police Officer will be an individual with a high commitment to customer service, a proven record of integrity, and the ability to work comfortably in a small-town atmosphere enjoyed by the residents of Atherton.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess a valid California Class C Driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record; POST certification to include demonstrated firearms proficiency and qualification; complete a comprehensive background investigation including a polygraph, psychological, and medical examination. 

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Applicants must be able to apply the knowledge and skills required of a sworn police officer, and display the ability to perform the following: patrol the Town in an assigned area, individually or as part of a team; provide information, directions and assistance to the public in a variety of situations; take reports and assist the public with complaints; observe, monitor and control routine and unusual traffic situations; stop motorists for various vehicle code violations, and issue traffic citations or give verbal warnings; make arrests for criminal offenses; serve warrants and subpoenas; transport individuals for medical clearance and booking at the County facility; be available to work a wide range of schedules that may include weekends, holidays, and night shifts.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

The current monthly salary for these positions ranges depending on the job title and experience.

Police Trainee - $8709.15 per month;  Police Officer - $10,538.83 - $12,810.01.
